French Texts for Black Hawk Down and Team Sabre

Some versions of the game translated into other languages have become inaccessible and have not been updated to the latest version.
With a little manipulation you can change the language by replacing some files and get a good result.
As I am lucky to still have access to this version of the game, I was able to extract the original french texts and update them to be compatible with Team Sabre and not have invisible text.
Team Sabre does not seem to contain a version in french, so I myself translated the missions of the extension except for the mission briefings that appear when loading before the mission begins.
As these are images (.pcx files) it is more complicated to replace the original text with translated text.

Installation for Black Hawk Down and Team Sabre:
Before any manipulation make a copy of your game folder in order to keep the original and be able to go back in case of problem!
To install the texts, you have three solutions.
1.
- Put all the .bin and .pcx files into the game folder
- Create a shortcut of dfbhd.exe
- Right clic on the shortcut and go to Properties
- At the end of the "Target" line write /d with a space in front of it, clic on Apply and OK then test

2.
- Replace the .bin and .pcx files into the files localres.pff (for Black Hawk Down) and EXP1.pff (for Team Sabre), you need a PFF editor to edit this file

3.
You will need a PFF editor
- Create a custom .pff file, name it with a simple name (for example French.pff) then place it in the "mod" folder located in the game folder (create it if it does not exist).
- Put all the .bin and .pcx files inside the .pff file
- Create a shortcut of dfbhd.exe
- Right clic on the shortcut and go to Properties
- At the end of the "Target" line write /mod NameOfYourMod with a space in front of it (ex : "C:..dfbhd.exe" /mod French), clic on Apply and OK then test


Notes:
- The text file of Black Hawk Down for Med software has not been translated.
- You can find the text of the mission briefing of the loading screen also in the game by pressing the "G" key, This text has been translated.
- The mission 7 of Team Sabre contained practically no text for the mission briefing. However the text of the loading screen was complete, as it is the same information I therefore copied all the content and do a translation job to get a complete description in this mission.
- The mission 10 had differences between the game text and the loading screen. The briefing in the game seemed to have some errors and not very complete, so I made a mixed of the two texts to have more complete information in the mission.

Team Sabre Operations is an enhancement mod for Delta Force Black Hawk Down and its Team Sabre expansion. It's meant to fix and improve the stock game's data, sounds, art style and gameplay. It also provides additional content for map makers in order to expand the original experience.

Main features of Delta Force: Team Sabre Operations:
- Custom installer for easier mod installation (a proper installation of DFBHD/TS is required); mod files do not override any of the stock game files, they are separate to ensure that the original DFBHD/TS game and its multiplayer are intact.
- Included a brand new version of Baldo_the_Don's Weapon Sights mod, with much rebalanced stats for weapons, ammo and items in order to increase realism.
- Added more than 150 new items (vehicles, decorations, buildings) for map makers, mainly converted from Comanche 4, reworked with better textures and/or sounds and data.
- Added more than 180 different terrains for map makers, all of the terrains from DF1/DF2/DFLW/DFTFD/DFX/DFX2/JO/JOE have been ported and reworked for the DFBHD game engine.
- Made better looking skins for vehicles, weapons, plants, terrains, buildings (using nicer textures from DFBHD's beta version), soldiers (Rangers in the second Team Sabre mission in Colombia finally get woodland camo, etc.).
- Fixed most of the annoying bugs and glitches in single-player missions (any misplaced objects in Team Sabre's campaign missions are removed, missing sounds and/or wrong voiceovers are corrected, fixed broken or missing triggers in some missions).
- Added an M14 by re-using the M21's 3d model, with both weapons using unique skins, sounds and animations.
- Added MK 23 suppressed pistol converted from Joint Operations (Team Sabre for the PS2 featured this weapon).
- Added AWM aka L115A1 sniper rifle converted from Joint Operations (Team Sabre for the PS2 featured this weapon).
- Added unsuppressed MP5A3 submachine gun converted from Joint Operations.
- Replaced suppressed MP5A3's 3d model with a better one converted from Joint Operations.
- Added different and better animations from later NovaLogic's games in place of stock ones, thus improving the reloading animations of some weapons.
- Added a large array of different sounds to give each weapon more unique sounds (for instance, each light machine gun uses its own reloading sound, like in NovaLogic's Joint Operations).
- Added a playable version of the Weapons Range South mission, included but inactive in stock DFBHD.
- Added fixed and/or new 3d models for missing items (the original Team Sabre expansion lists many map items, some totally missing); what the Mission Editor shows is now available, any missing .3di models have been removed and/or replaced.
- Added slight health regeneration system for small wounds, given engine limitations.
- Restored cut in-game voiceovers for some single player missions, now they feature more dialogue.
- Restored DFBHD main menu music in place of the one from the Team Sabre expansion.
- Restored buttons in the Credits screen for viewing DFBHD's Irene and Ending videos.
- Reworked HUD and UI elements, menu screens now using reworked textures based on the ones from the beta version of DFBHD.
- Reworked animations and behavior of NPCs so that they are more realistic; AI will no longer open fire while moving with a lowered weapon.
- Reworked fog and sky colors for some missions in order to increase variety.
- Fixed several grammar errors and misspelled words in the game's localization.
- Reworked briefing data and loading images of missions for more quality and consistency.
- Given brand new custom names to the Team Sabre campaigns and their missions.
- Fully converted all additional multiplayer maps from the Xbox version of the game; 13 Deathmatch maps (Arena, Boot Camp, Boot Camp X, Burn, Minefield, Park, Site, Trenches, Tunnel, Courtyard, Crash X, Dock X, Island X) and 1 Team Deathmatch map (Siege).
- Added Team Deathmatch maps converted from the beta demos of the game and using beta assets included in the mod (TDMBD_01 and TDMBD_04 from beta v0.0.1 named City Limits A and City Limits B, TDMM_01c and TDMM_01d from beta v0.0.3 named Night Limits A and Night Limits B).
- Fixed all stock King of the Hill BHD maps not having a proper name (KOTH was not part of the original game, maps existed for it but they were using the internal filenames, now they are named like their other game modes' counterparts).
- Removed TKHR_04 map from Team King of the Hill (it was included by mistake by the Team Sabre expansion, it's an older duplicate of Oil Island).
- Fixed all TS multiplayer maps not having a proper name (TKHR_ts02 has been renamed arbitrarily to Jungle Town as no official name exists for it).
- Fixed TS Flag Ball maps having incorrect names (B versions were still named A, for instance Oil Island B appeared as Oil Island A).
- Fixed duplicate TKHR_ts02 map in Team King of the Hill (the duplicate was meant to appear in Team Deathmatch, now it is so).
- Created B versions of the Ruination and TKHR_ts02 (now called Jungle Town) maps; fixed flag colors in the Capture the Flag and Flag Ball game modes.
- Included NovaHQ Heartbeat DLL (Alternate Lobby Reporting DLL) to offer basic multiplayer support.
- Included SuiMachine's wrapper to override FOV and 1280x1024 resolution with custom values.

Somalian Conflict brings almost all of the Black Hawk Down/Team Sabre stuff to Joint Operations engine, that includes vehicles, AIs, weapons, HUD, buildings, decorations, terrains and environments.

The mission in this map, is to demonstrate some of the new features of Team Sabre. I also hope it adds more topics and discussions on WAC file programming on the bulletin board. The map contains various types of assaults, mostly by zodiacs and helicopters. Follow the waypoints, and I promised you'll see things you've never seen before on any Delta Force map. I used a lot of wave files to kind of carry the story. To complete this mission, simply follow old waypoints, and live to tell about it. The highlights of this map, from a technical viewpoint, would be the dramatic airplane crash, the Little Bird clearing out the main harbor, the zodiac patrol run around the island escorted by a missile firing Little Bird, and last but not least, the minigun and rocket strafing run on the fuel depot, which employs a squid routine. I don't know if it's consider a playable mission, I didn't plan it to be, so please rate this fairly. Hope you enjoy. Mr.POW, out

Advanced Warfare is a JOINT OPERATIONS - Modification. The theme for AW is not so much only War Scenarios and Jungle, like in JO and some of the other Mods like IC etc. but to offer also a more civilian side of the whole thing. You´re not necessarely are forced to make Jungle or Military based Maps, you can also make a little more city like and even funny things that you can use. AW is proud to not be so serious about itself, thats why we have a few funny, not so serious things in our Mod. But we prefer that because there should be also alternatives to other, more serious Mods. Our current development is ADVANCED WARFARE v2. Our previous Version 1.0 is NOT supported anymore with us. These DLL files replace a couple files in your games folder. THEY WILL NOT AFFECT GAME PLAY IN ANY WAY AND WORK WITH ALL MODS. What they will do is report your games online status when you are hosting a "NovaWorld" game session to two alternate lobbies http://nw.novahq.net and http://novaworld.cc. These lobbies allow any player to join any game without the need to login or create an account on NovaWorld. These files DO NOT AFFECT anything else. Your game will still show up in the official lobby like normal.

These DLL files can also be used to create your own game lobby or server status for your website. PHP example scripts are included. You may use this information to display your server status or even create your own game lobby for your team to join through.

Download the archive, find your game version and replace the files in your games folder with the ones in the archive. It's super simple and automatic. There is nothing else to configure or install (but please read the *.ini file).

The time is now for Black Operations!

This will convert any Comanche 4 3DI files over to the BHD
format. Being that the C4 game is not a FPS but basically a
flight game some of the collision boxes may not fully work with
in the BHD engine. To fix these problems on those certain
items you must use the existing milkshape plugin to import the
3di file and fix the collision boxes and then export back out to
an ase format and then change the item back into a BHD 3di
format using the NovaLogic BHD OED tool. Another program
and more stable in handing the 3DI format is the ULTIMATE
UNWRAP 3D program. If you would like to use the C4 items in
JO or DFX you can grab DV's BHD to JO/DFX converter tool
and transfer them over one more step.

TEXTURES: A list will appear in the box on the main page,
These are the textures that must be exported from the C4 PFF
file. They appear as TGA in the tool but in the PFF they are
DDS files.

SAVING FILES: This tool will not save as a new 3DI you must
save the converted file over top of the 3di you imported to be
converted.
