can't even lay the game

i loaded up the game and tried to play it and it said my ati radeon 9700 pro is not fully directx8 compatble. the screen that comes up lets you select the video card i have a radeon 9700 pro and the it says it is going to do a resolution test and then says the test failed. i have downloaded the drivers of of gateways home page and ati's home page both and have tried to intsall them several time but no luck any suggestions? any help is greatly appriciated. thanks

Sometimes you have to uninstall the old drivers before installing the new one.

You try that?

done that several times with the one from gateway and the one from ati's home page and all i ever get is that stupid window that says it failed the resolution test lol. any other ideas?

here you go pick what you need your update driver

also do update with windows update site there they have a lot of updates even for driver's also
P.s i have gateway 1400 serials Pc it sucks their web-site ref;update its better look other place's for update's



sample my Tv-card thier update had bugs in it did not workout good at all.

fixed the prob

i talked to a friend of mine and he said it sounded like some other program on my comp was keeping my video card from working prop on a programing level so i completly reinstalled windows xp and only installed the things i wanted on it not gate way and it works fine. thanks to all the help everone offered.
