Well i have taken a stock map using the PFF Extractor,got it into the game ,used the BMS to MIS converter to change it to a MIS so i could check out how it was set up for moving vehicles,,i checked the vehicles attributes,and wrote down everything, then i checed the waypoints attributes,and wrote down everything, i then went to Edit and checked Events and Waypoints,and Triggers,and Groups, and wrote down everything EXACTLY, then i went to the map that i am making ,and applied EVERYTHING that i had written down in the EXACT ORDER that it was supposed to be done ,Saved and Exported my map went into the game and opened my map,,and the Truck just sat there ,i rechecked EVERYTHING, but this time put the Truck in a Waypoint List ,because the way Nova has it set, the Helo's and Truck's are NOT set to a waypoint list,BUT they ARE in a Group,Saved and Exported,then went back into the map ,this time the Truck took off as soon as i got in the map ,and the speed was to fast to catch up to ,the velocity wasnt setting and when the truck got to the last waypoint it just stopped and would not start over again ,,i dont get what i could have done wrong ,i checked and rechecked and rechecked again, and i DID do EVERYTHING ,that i could see that Nova had done to make what i wanted to happen work ,BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO ! What is WRONG with this MESSED UP GAME,...Has ANYONE tried this ,and has Anyone gotten what i just explained, to work CORRECTLY???????...Im GETTIN PISSED.......im not dumb and i have done this in LW and TFD with no problems,and didnt have to do HALF of what i have had to do in this game ,AND IT STILL WONT WORK!!......H E L P !!!!!!!!!

For what??? i thought everything needed to make things move was in Events,Groups,Triggers,Waypoints,etc: or is there something needed with this game that im missing,or am not getting????

What people don't understand is that BHD uses wac files to execute events and all kinds of other things, they are executed within an event, and that's about all I understand about them. So mappers like myself in the dark about such things figure out how to do the same thing using events only. I think this is why it was so hard to get the choppers to go , but I got that licked.

So what is it that i am looking for and what am i supposed to do once i find it??,once i get it ,i will be able to understand it,but right now im still kinda lost,with these extra files, and i thought i had done what was needed ,when i looked at the MIS's that Nova did,and did the Events and whatnot that i saw,thinking "if they did it this way ,then its gotta work!"

I sympathise with people who cant get the helicopters working I really do. Byt the Blackhawk is a big waste of space anyhow.
Just dont put them in your maps is my advice. Once you have played the DC0.3alpha Mod for BF1942, the fact you cant actually fly the thing in BHD will put you of it for life. Then you can get down and dirty making high quality maps rather than worrying about how one, completley unneccessary and poor feature runs at all. |

Which mod is this? I have the Desert Combat mod 85meg + an update. You mean someone else has a mod as well ? Excellent, where do I download it from? I'm only just getting the grip with flying now, s'pose practice makes perfect. Our little lan group has just about had it with DFLW and DFTFD, because they use IPX, and XP doesn't handle it very well at all, thats if we can all even join a game, and BHD is very pretty, but is a poor excuse being five moths overdue. Might just ditch it as well, I here there are a few new releases that have a multiplayer Coop in them, deathmatch and team deathmatch are good, but sometimes you just need to kick butt as a team, we can do this with 1942. Ever noticed some of the best first person stuff is from EA Games !!!
Eagle Eye PS. Is there any kind of Map Ed for 1942 ? TA

The new version has Hind and blackhawk helicopters, AV8-B (harriers), Scud Missile launchers as well as assorted new planes/artillery. Its also changed the player class system. Now to call artillery you have to be a support guy (or in chopper), support guy has med pack and spanner but only a shotgun so youd better look after your support dude. The Iraqi special-ops guy has a suicide bomber setting too ![]() Mapmakers for BF1942 are all about compiling height maps and modelling in MAX. Powerful but very tough and very expensive. There is a map editor coming out but dont expect to have the power to create anything as quickly as you can in DF. Also. EA games is a publishers, they dont make any games. EA is also (apparently) the largest third party stock holder in NovaLogic. So there you go. They have their hands in everywhere) Apologies for hijacking this thread. |

Thanks for the input guys ,yea i guess i shouldnt worry bout it to much, although i would at least like to get a hummer to run around the map at a speed that you dont need a jetpack on your back to catch up to ,,,i dont get it, in LW and TFD it was a lot easier to do this stuff,the rest of the stuff in the Med is easy,but it seems Nova only wanted themselves to be able to have the ability to move things

if thats the case i would love EA.game to host it be great. As for DF:LW & DF:TFD yea i have to say their terrain sucks other then that its not bad.
