WHO CAN BUILD THE BEST DELTA FORCE – BLACK HAWK DOWN FANSITE?

The search is on for the best of the Web!

CALABASAS, CA (March 3rd 2003) – NovaLogic is pleased to announce that the competition to find who can build the best Delta Force - Black Hawk Down Fan Site on the Web will begin on March 5th, 2003!

To help get people started, NovaLogic is providing some basic assets in a Web Design Kit. These include screenshots, vehicles, characters, weapons, logos and box art. Entrants may also explore the NovaLogic website (www.novalogic.com) and the Internet for additional material. Entrants are not required to use all the assets in this kit.

Websites will be judged on the following criteria:
• Originality
• Design layout
• Functionality
• Content

The competition goes live on March 5th, 2003 and closes on March 18th, 2003.

PRIZING
• 1 GRAND PRIZE PACKAGE - Delta Force-Black Hawk Down standee signed by the development team, plus a copy of the Delta Force-Black Hawk Down game, t-shirt, soundtrack and Black Hawk Down book.
• 1 FIRST PRIZE -- Delta Force-Black Hawk Down game, t-shirt and soundtrack.
• 10 RUNNERS UP - Delta Force - Black Hawk Down t-shirt.

The winning web sites will all be promoted on NovaLogic’s home page as an “Official Delta Force - Black Hawk Down fan site”.

I hear DFA are making a team up to win it.... that kinda defeats the purpose of the compeitition i think - its to get individual web design talented peeps into the game.... but you have a big DF website making a team up to win it.....

What are they gunna do? Snap the BHD CD into 10 different peieces?

well I'm not bothering with the competition, a word of advice, whoever does the site, make sure it is in English, french and spanish!!!

Also, make sure it works in Netscape and Internet Explorer so you get the best scores for function

Yeah I'm not going to bother with it either - was thinking about it, but nah. My time is worth more than what they're offering. It'd be cheaper for me to simply purchase the stuff.

And then when I saw what DFArena were planning it put me off alltogether. I don't think it's going to be about simply making a BHD site. You're really going to need to go out a get a domain and hosting, set up polls, forums, link directories. Therefore I think already established BHD fan sites will win. DFBlackhawkdown.com and Jolt's BHD site are some which come to mind.

They say they will advertise your fan site on Nova's site, which clearly means (with the words they've used) that they expect the site to continue past the competition date.

Therefore you just can't design a site with a links page (for example) with the content on that page saying: 'Links would go here'. And a few images of the characters and weapons isn't going to get your 1st price. I believe you're really going to create a DFHQ type site, but which only focuses on BHD.

I'd rather have seen a BHD wallpaper or desktop icons type competition.

no no dude. Your misinformed. DFA is not makeing a team. The team members dicieded to do this on our own. I have no idea what will happen to the web site when we are done,or it if will even win. But a couple people from the DFA forums decided to get toghter and make one for DFA,DFA did not ask us to do this,we did it own our own. Abd we are just like you said--->individual web design talented peeps ...well not me,but i volunterd just like everyone else did.

Sheeze dude,just because DFA is going to try and make one dont mean you cant to. You say that as if you would not join in anything that DFA is doing... If i recall right i used to see you post at DFA camo. Why you so anti DFA now?

Its got nothing to do with 'DFA' itself - just the fact that some people are putting a team together for this simply showed me the light at how it'd be a waste of time for me to enter this comp. One developer vs numerous.

I believe already established fan sites will win this.

Im thinking of having ago I ran Tom Jones Site was not the best site but was successfull. but went on to other sites but i'm temped with this if only for somert to do
