Map Conversions
Is there any way to reverse engineer an existing canned map that comes with the game, like a conversion tool or something? It would be so nice to be able to tweak certain aspects like adding some additional guns here and there or vehicles, helicopters that fire when they only have skids now etc.

first you need a pff tool and extract the bms,wac files then you need a bms2mis file converter. add the mis to your DFX2 dir. open the mis file with the map editor and change what you need to change. REMEMBER THE MAPS ON THIS SITE AND OTHER SITES BELONG TO THERE RESPECTIVE OWNERS.

Where would I get a PFF tool and instructions?
I hear you regarding ownership of the maps. I would only use these maps for internal play and not share them anyway. |

If you go down to DFX section "utilities" you'll find all you need (dfx pff tool will work on dfx2 and so will bms2mis converter.

Forget it with DFX2 the bms files, wav files and pff header are encrypted and the tool will not work
You would need a skilled mapper to duplicate it for you. (MAJWIZ ) If it's TDM or KOTH they have no AI or other fancy stuff so it should be a relatively straight forward process, the main factors being a bit of time and observation. Last edited by Guest001; 02-19-2014 at 07:42 PM. |

Hi MAJWIZ, I think that Sybell is also having some of the usual troubles forwarding the correct ports for hosting.

Yes any assistance is truly appreciated. We have a Watchguard Firewall here. What will the process or application be named that is attempting to access the ports so we can monitor and find out?

It might pay to see if Windows firewall has re-instated itself after a recent Windows Update (it often does) and just to be sure check that both home and public networks are allowed in any firewall rules for dfx2.exe |
