i just started to run again 3 week ago, started out at 1 mile, not good after 10yr of no running, thought i was gona die , lol.

just got done with 2 miles, pant pant, lol, gona keep going and see if i can do 4 miles in a month or two.

got started running again because i was getting a little soggy in the mid section and was feeling crappy all time, night binge eating and oatmeal cream pies will do that to ya, lol.

who else here runs?

id probably be considered to be in no shape to exercise, lol.

i got a treadmill i modded to where it aint powered, ya have to make the thing move and has a adjustable tensin knobe on it to where ya can make the resistance to where it is like pushing a car, better for everything, not only do ya build streingth ya also hepls cardiovascular and endurance.

i got it on resistance set now to where it is like walking up hill,
i aint where i can push a car for a mile yet, lol

thats where most treadmills mess up, they help cardio but dont hardly do anything for streingth.

get to where i can do it on max resistance i can probably do 15 miles without breaking a sweat, ill take the cover off and take a pic of the tensing system when i get som batteries fer camera.

ok, here it is, just threw it together out of parts i already had so it doesnt look too nice, but was just looking for something to make resistance.

it uses a oilitebronze bushing in the flyweel to make the resistance, change resistance by tighting or lostening the nuts on the shaft. sounds like a router when ya use it, lol.

Well I am a runner but after my ankle injury I haven't been able to. I used to run to the gym and back. I love running I got by time and distance, all thought I don't check the time I try to go as fast as I can without slowing down

I love runnin' lol.

I don't think I've run 1-2+ kilometres but I can walk for that much or more.

I don't care about my running, I care about my muscle. I want them to be real big, lol.

Chris

at the weekend, I usally go on 2-4 hour walks, again with the dog, gives me something to do, and usually have running intervals.
I have weights, I have a treadmill, just trying to keep it balanced, although I'm not as active with the weights cos I dont really have a place to do them, I have a gym around a 15 minute walk from me, but I don't have time. (Crap I say I alot )

lol, chris.

i like to have big muscles too but i started to run so i can gets some endurence and speed for me legs and the extra resistance will help build both streingth and endurence and also helps cardio and then i use weights to get uperbody streingth so i can use it when it counts.

if ya want bigger mucles dont go for quanity of reps, pick a weight that ya can do for 10-15 times b4 it gets difficult and do it real slow, and do this 3-4 times a week and about 4-5 sets and ya will be like i was in highschool, got all kinds of streatch marks from the mucles i had, lol.

when ya do light weight fast and lots of reps ya burn more fat and build more endurence but ya mucles dont get really big.

and lots of meat helps in building muscle, but dont ferget the balanced diet for any exercise routien.

sorry to hear that kat,
i can run on the ankle i blew up, hurt a lot b4 i got used to it and i still cant bend it like i used to could, guess the bone fused at the wrong points or something, i just run till my legs go jiggly like i used to, could outrun every1 in my class at school when i was still doing it.

i dont use running shoes, i got a pair of BATES desert boots made for the military, put a pair of jelly insole in them on top of the origional insoles and they wear better than any running shoe i have found.

I don't have any weights or dumbells at home, lol. And I'll never be doing those big weights as they can stuff up your joints when you're young.

I do pressups often but I want something that'll do ''more''. And no, I don't want those things you buy that give you automatic workouts (those things you put on your arm, etc.).

I power lift... or at least I used to (elbow injury). I'm 5'6" 152 pounds and can bench 255, but I also have short arms. Building muscle isn't very difficult if you train a lot and as hard as you possibly can. 100% Whey protein is also an easy alternative to meat...almost no fat at all and 24 grams a serving. I get a 5 pound tub for $35 and it lasts me a good while.

I think it's because it ''wasn't spam'', so ''whoever'' moved it here.
