lookie what im getting.
i ordered it today and should be getting it within 2 weeks, it is a nice all metal (no crappy plastic ) gen1 NZT-22 nightvision goggle system from newcon optik, it is a russian designed system event thoe the place that carries them is in canada.
it is good for a good 200m, the pair i seen ya could see a truck at 500m in a field on a moonlit night and that is good for a gen1 system, it runs on a single 3v lithium CR123 battrie that last for a good 50hours with the ir on and 100hours with ir off.
the magnification is 1.1 and the double tube is great for depth perception , it is also watter resistant.

i can also get replacement intensifier tubes from the website i ordered from and from what i saw the tubesw arnt glass like the other systems i found and had, they are machined from aluminum and got threaded collars to hold the lenses in, witch is great for they wont CRACK like the atn night cougar i had when ya go from outside to inside.

well the cheapest ive seenem is 600$ but they wouldnt talk to me unless i had a creditcard but these were 718.94$ tax and all.
sounds expencive but being made out of all metal being water resistant and being built like a tank, i couldnt passem up, and being all NVDs are going up in price if i waited they would have probably been 800$+ by next year.

i would have goten a pair of gen2 or 3 but i couldnt see paying 2,000$- 3,000$ for something that has less technology than a speak and spell.

cept for the housing the tubes are evacuated envelopes with a cathode and anode and a phosporesent screen and a few lenses and a circuit consisting of a osscilation transistor and a highvoltage coil.

i just like being able to see in dark and not have others seeing me.
pluss they work great when ya have a prowler running around.

found out that the reddot sights on the low setting works expecialy well with nightvision.

i really see no need for something like that other then spying on others or playing on doing something to others?

if your in the arm force it would be nice to have. or if you like to hunt at night or a nature watcher of some type see things or lookout for thing in the wild life. no good to watchout for snakes will never showup in the scope reason they are cold blooded and they to small to tell it from the rest of the ground.

and im not making this up, i have witnessed the blackbaggeres of the clinton administration, back in fall 1994-95 me and my uncles were outside at around 1:00AM after we had just put in a timing chain and gear set in a dodge 318, we was sitting in the front of our garage talking when we heard a boat go up river with no lights, not unusual but ok, then we hear a chopper in the distance, didnt think much of it for we havem fly over all time, but it kept getting louder and louder and it flew over no more than 100ft over the ground and had no markings i could see and had no lights it skimed the ground to about 600 maby 700yards to the top of the hill across the river and we heard the sound that they make when they hover and then we heard tatatatata ta ta ta tatatatata a couple of big bangs and some1 sent up a green flair.
never heard anything bout it on the news and even the people who lived 2 houses down from where all this shit happened didnt hear a thing.

how the hell do you not hear a dam fully loaded military chopper and some big exoplosions when ya arnt even 400ft from it?
to this day we still dont know what happened there.
and thats is why i have the things i got, nightvision coming in, good long range rifle with over 1000rounds good shortrange rifle with about the same number of rounds, a good 9mm pistole with 500rounds in clips , a good 22rifle for squirl and susch if i get out alive a good knife for skining, a sleeping roll some extra clothes some MREs water, med kit, and some other items. hell i even got some level 3 body armor and a kevelar helment.

and i have been studing military manules for the last 5 years memorizing tactics and such.

i dont know if i can make it out alive but damit i am going to take as many as i can in the prosess.

sweet. Have any of you ever used NVGs before? I have...like 3 times or something when i was in teh cadets, but they were the sucky, heavy-as-hell one eyed goggle things, so you had to close one eye and rely on the other...annoying...

And it sounds like these goons are running around in some training exercise, like what Mike said.

i got to use them 1ce at work exp, but they litrally held them on ur head (the uk army doesnt seem 2 like letting go of equipment lol..)

it was prob a training excercise.. theres piles here all the time even in civ. areas.. just 2day there was 2 lynx helicopters flying low in formation and last week there was a street training patrol

lol, but if it were a training exercise, wouldnt they have informed the locals of such an event? I know that here our army combined with a bunch of others (i dont remember) have all these war games that take place out in the bush, in the air at sea. Its called 'Pitch Black' and it goes for weeks. You'd hear the jets scream overhead and often see soldiers roping out of blackhawks. I havent seen em rope out, but a mate of mine has...

yup, they are supposed to inform if they are going to be using explosives and such as to avoid any problems with the locals.
if ya dont know it is just an exercise and they start runninground shooting and blowing stuff up sometimes ya will have the law and other people shooting back.

and why would they be practicing door to door in small town america unless they are going to pull something in the future it shur as hell aint to makem prepaired to fight in urban enviroments in iran or iraq for those places are totaly diffrent from small town USA.

we saw the place where they did this and it was just a small house like granny and granddad would own, no bunkers and armorys anywhere out in the middle of nowhere away from any cities or major structures.
and terrorist when they attack it is usually in the city in a verry public place for their goal is terror and if it is in the middle of the boonies where no1 sees it how are they gona spread terror, so they cant say it is to practice fighting terrorist.

they have done things like this in the past, i have heard about them and have read about it, where it is 3-4AM (we will call the victums mom and pops) , mom and pops are in the bed asleep, all of a sudden there is a loud crash and they use a flashbang and throw mom and pops to the ground and take every gun in the house and detain mom and pops, saying it was a illeagle weapons search all they had was a 38 revolver that pops had next to his bed for protection, a 12guage shotgun not sawed off, a 30-06 for pops liked to hunt and a 22cal rifle, now how are tose illeagle weapons?

and being they dont have any real evidence aganst mom and pops they have to release them but not after interrogation asking where they got the guns, and after they are released they dont even give the perfectly leagal guns back.
and they justify it by saying thats another evil gun off the street.

a brave agent with a M-16 shot her in the head blowing half her head off and making her drop the kid and it sustained fatal injuries from the fall.

then the brave FBI and BATF agents stormed the house and the rest is history.

and if hillary get into the whitehouse in 2 years the economy will be destroyed and in 4 yeard we will most likely be in a dictatorship.

theyre ok when the sky is clear and ya aint in the woods, lol.
gen1 is ok when ya are in a feild or on a highway, ive drove with the night cougar i had, its not to bad if ya keep it under 30,lol.
but ive found out that the civilian version of gen1 is a lot crappier than the military version, and these are military but it is just an older design.

if ya are going ti be in an urban terrain gen 2 is a must and if ya are gona be in the woods then gen2+ or gen 3 is a must, i still cant see paying 4,000-6,000$US for gen3, the expencive part is the tubes, i can buy the goggles minus the tubes for just 90-100$US but if it comes with a tube it automaticly jumps to over 1,000$US, there is no need for that, a gen 1 device that ya dont have to have the IR on all the time unlike night owls monocular usually start around 200$US but if ya put a 2nd generation tube in it it automaticly hits the 1,100$US mark.

still cant figure it out for the only diffrence in a gen 1 and a gen 2 tube is that the gen 2 incorperates a MCP (Micro Channel Plate) that is a wafer with thousands of honycomb looking holes samiched between the phospher screen and the photocathode that increases the gain by spliting the electrons that hit the MCP into more so ya end up with a better picture and higher gain.

the gen 3 on the other hand the tubes are treated with galium arcinide that combined with the MCP give you a gain sever thousand time more that gen1 or 2 put together.

i still dont see why the gen2 tubes cost so much more than the gen1, there is no sence in it.

the coolest NVD device ive seen uses the infared wavelength and ya can see thru fog, smoke, and even where there is no light whatsoever, buuuut the goggles start at a whoping 15,000$US for a cheep pair
