and does any1 know what this country was set up as? it was origionaly a constitutional republic where the people had controll over their government and the constitution put restrictions upon that government.

the reason that origionaly only the people who had land or owned a buisness was given the right to vote is that they actually had something to lose and would vote accordingly.
