Plain Should this man be executed?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4617902.stm

I wonder what you think of this, was this man to old to be executed or did he deserve death for the crimes he commited?

I don't think age should matter. He was guilty of his crime.

I think a lot of times the reason for the delay between sentencing and execution is because of all the appeals.

I think if you make age a reason not to execute some one, you may find people appealing or coming up with some other stall tatic just so that they could delay the process long enough for them to get to old, then they say "sorry, you can execute me, I'm too old".

Now that is a very valid point IcI some of these criminals would do just that to escape the death penalty!

BB dont matter if he wont do anything in 5 years, he got locked away for ORDERING 3 people dead.....while still serving a life sentence, dont care if he was blind, couldnt speak walk, or that sort. IF someone is capible of killing and they have they can and will do it again

The blind wheelchair user was pronounced dead at 0038 (0838 GMT), at San Quentin prison near San Francisco.

..

maybe if he wasnt blind and not in a wheelchair then id say fair enough kill him, its wrong to murder i know

but killing someone who is disabled? and cant see? i dont see how they are a threat as they would have to be taken into care and looked after until they die

I might agree with that if I didn't live in a country with a rising tide of crime where murder is almost commonplace. I think that those who murder should be hung other wise killers get what the so called "justice" system here in the U.K. calls a 7 year "tarrif".... 7 years for murder!!!! The victim is dead and gone but the murderer walks out of prison after a maximum of 7 years, it might be an imotive argument but it's an imotive issue.

Giving him the death penalty would also be ordering him dead.

The guy is suffering while he's alive, let him. I think death would be an easy way out for him.

@BADDOG, i agree with what you're saying about rising crime in the UK and how sentencing and enforcing these sentences are inappropriate. I think the way forward initially is to make people serve more appropriate sentences to their fullest and not to make prison as comfortable for them as it seems to have been made in some cases.

I couldn't agree more bro, prison seems to be to some criminals a way of getting a rest from their activies rather than a punishment!
