Age of Empires III

i know we have a forum for this, but not many people actually go in there.

Just wondering if anyone else here plays Age of Empires 3 here. If some of ya do, any of ya fancy setting up a game one night.

Haven't played it online yet but i bet its like c&c generals (takes ages to get a game setup, then the person leaves midgame) so i'd rather play against someone i know first of all.

i'd say so yea. i love the c&c series, got both generals games on my comp at the mo if u ever fancy a game steve

i used to own "cossacks" a while back, which is a strategy game set in the same time zone as AOE, but theres a lot more to do, and its a lot more time consuming... easy to get bored of.

the thing about AOE is that u still have the little extra bits to upgrade and all that, but its a lot quicker and a lot easier to get into. u can even "rush" the AI sometimes too just like generals =P

sounds pretty good, might try to get hold of it.

did you ever try Dawn of War? the battle scenes are the best of its kind that i have seen, becasue the number of units can be very high and the gfx and animation is so good. it's nice to sit back and watch, then you realise your not giving orders and getting a good kickin'.

no cant say ive ever had a look at that one m8. thats what i used to like about cossacks tho. you could build so many diferent types of units, then sort them into squads and formations, then have some big 60 minute battle, was amazing to watch, but very hard to manage lol.

"might try to get hold of it"... gimme a pm if ya want m8 and i'll see if i can sort something for ya.

its ok, i know some cheap places

one thing about C&C games is that is get so bored with the limited types of units. there just always seems to be one key unit that you just stock up on and are pretty much undefeatable. there is just not enought diff types of units for me and upgrades are so limited. bah i want everything

haha i totally agree with ya. thats the only reason i got bored of it. with every general theres one key unit, or theres ALWAYS shed loads of rocket men and you've won lol.

Yeah! What Front-Liner just said is a great question!

There bodies should just stay there basically. And I would love to have a mod where it takes them into the
21st Century! Awesome!
