From my Dad American blood and from my Mom Scot's/Irish but a distant relative came to live here from Germany so I don't know if that gives me any German blood or not!!!!

Butterfield it means the same thing in both country's.
think my family name started off as a farmer raisin cattle in open field basic making butter. i think how the name be came that way not 100% know if it is or not.

but yes i have some German in my family tree

but more in English then German. there a family shield in both country's.
