BBC news shows violent footage?

ok, well, i dont usually watch the news, but tonight the BBC news showed footage of the roadside bomb that claimed the lives of 10 marines, its pretty "gory" due to the fact you can actually see everything, no censoring in it at all..

i dont usually watch the BBC news but is this something new, because all people in the UK know how censored our news is? or have they always done it?

I saw msn's version.. i saw a modeled version of humalike models walking in to a courtyard..where burried explosives detonated...it wasn't pleasant..but I'd rather seen footage of the real incident..especially if 100 terrorist went up with them..

Seen worse. Truth hurts but is unedited and blunt.

Plain

Perhaps the BBC has changed it's policy on what it deems fit for viewers to see?

Warm Regards

tbh i think it's better to see what's going on rather than being censored by the government or however it is regulated.

they always warn of graphic footage or images, if you dont like it then you dont have to watch.

i dont think it's changed much, but i think things get shown more because of modern technology captures more things, war has always been shown but the BBC, and a lot has been shown of the conflict in Iraq, especially the stuff mentioned in the first post like IED's and roadside bombs. i guess you just dont watch the news much BB?

other examples are when the hurricane was in the US, they showed dead bodies on the streets and flood, and the Tsunami earlier in the year, they showed a lot of stuff then.

Yes I seem to remember seeing some fairly graphic material on the BBC before now when I stop to think about it.

I particularly remember the then Belgian Congo and two reporters filming the murder of a man which was shown unedited on BBC televison news and that was back in the 1960's.

I think those news should be brodcasted but not shown in pictures, think of the families, they do everything for views

and yet some of the soldiers that are over there dont get much backing from the public of their own countires, id love to see the reactions on the "anti war" supporters once they see what the soldiers have to put up with
