not 100% about the red adition, i'd like to see a version where the red is replaced by the blue or grey from the banner, just to compaire.

Might as well make the diagonals a 1600x1200 bg image...it wont be more than 20k since there would only be 2 colors in the palette.

agreed wont be but like a 5x5px image to make the entire sreen diag. lines
