biggest piece of advice i can give at the moment is to allow ppl to view the forum without having to register. that really is one of my pet hates about sites - have to register to see or download anything.

me also.. i usually dont waiste my time plus putting my email all over the web.. If I look at the site and see it's got something good i might register.. if I cant see anything then ill find another

yeah, that's the best policy IMHO.
ppl can see the content and are more likely to register.

but it also stops idiots from posting carp all over and wrecking your forum
