Saw a great deal on newegg.com.. AMD64 X2 (dual core) 4400+ w/ 2x 1mb cache and a free copy of nero 7 ultra.. So I went for it.. Also picked up a ATi X300SE PCIe graphics card, another cheap apex case, abit AN8-ULTRA motherboard and corsair 512 mb DDR400 value ram..

Going to oc the new cpu to 4800+ specs (2.4GHz) and use my current 4000+ to complete my second system to use for misc junk so I can work on one when the other is working on somthing else.. etc etc.. Hopefully if ram ever goes down again i'll pick up another 2gb for $200 and my 'god' machine will be complete for awhile... at least untill abit releases there crossfire motherboard and the price for another x850xt goes down. but another x850xt is last on my list since mine seems to handel anything I can throw at it right now..

The main reason I switched to dual core was for the multi-tasking.. I often find myself waiting for one thing to finish before I do something else.. Going by what alot of people are saying, this should help me out alot..

Now i'll have 2 rigs..

WOW the multitasking on this thing is insane!! I didn't believe the reviews when they said you can do ALOT at once without slowing down.. Right now i'm compressing a 1.5gb rar archive, extracting a 3gb one, decrypting a dvd and surfing the net with no slow downs what-so-ever.. Each core is now clocked at 2.43GHz. WinXP x64 bit prolly helping alot there also but this thing is still super fast.

VERY GOOD MONEY SPENT. You wouldn't believe it till you tried it yourself..

For about $325 @ newegg.com you can get a X2 3800+ (2.0GHz) and overclock it to 2.4GHz easily with the stock fan...

or you can upgrade to the X2 4400+ for about $450 and oc to 2.6Ghz easily (So i've read alot) and you get the x2 1MB L2 Cache..

best upgrade I have ever made...
