Bad day at work ... =(

Was 10 minutes before closing time, and some guy turns up in a real nice looking jag, asking if i could do a couple of tyres for him. So, being the nice person i am, i said yes, got him a price and was prepared to give him a 15% discount on my name if he had them done now.

So, start to move the trolley jack alongside the car.... the handle slips from its lock and falls towards the car. Luckily i managed to catch it AS it hit the car otherwise the damage could of been a lot worse.

Now, being the HONEST person i am lol, i told the guy straight away rather than hide it, and offered to pay for the repairs out of my own pocket at the end of the month wen i get payed.

Is only an inch long scratch... but its a jaguar, AND its metallic paint. he's got a guy coming down next week to speak to me about a charge, and in all fairness the guys doing his best to keep it cheap for me as i was honest.

Now im dreading it coz i can see this guys comeing down and telling me it needs a full door respray, which from experience, i think is around £300 - 400 for that sort of car =(

Oh man Im sorry to hear that m8.... But if the work was being done in a garage that you work at then your employers Insurance should cover it.

Or did I overlook or not understand something?

yup, we do have the insurance, but i've only been there 3 weeks and if i go through the insurance, the bill ends up coming out of my area managers pocket and i dont like working for people that dislike me lol. and i cant afford to spend a month looking for work again, i'd rather pay for my mistake and keep working.

i just wish i had a job to have a bad day at i have been to 27 places and still cant get on anywhere i cant figure out twhat is going on, i mad good grades at school,never been in trouble with the law, was never late at last job,but still no1 will hire me im so confused.

and i know how that feels mauser... had the same thing for a month before i got this job. good grades at school, never been in trouble with the law, usualy quite punctual... but noone wants to give u the job. everyone wants experience nowdays

what is the sale pitch you give them when you go to the interview?
