I know a suite (normal leather suite) with an airbag that deploys on impact surounding the rider

Looks quite cool, don't know its still in developmen or if they stoped it.

As a rider, I think it's a bad idea. One of the most lifesaving things about a motorcycle is that you can be thrown from the bike. Instead of waiting around to be slammed into the car, or be made into a sandwich, the rider can position himself to be thrown in such a way that he endures less pain and damage to himself.

I speak from tons of experience, and I have no doubt that had an airbag stopped me from exiting my bike, I would have gotten far more than a few scratches.

EDIT: And to add to that, a rider needs to always be aware of his surroundings. Many accidents of any kind could have been prevented with more attention given to what was going on.

Sheet metal? Pavement? Dirtbike? None of those belong in the same sentence
