well anyway here is the info, some others might fidn it useful if they dotn know.

go here:

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707

follow instructions and download patch and use it. then you can use any windows theme which are free to download off loads of sites off the net.

basiclly you can use this insteady of downloading a proggy like windows blinds which soemtimes plays up and can use system resources.

loads of visual styles can be found on that site to: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showforum=36

oe deviant art has a bunch, or the wondows blinds homepage etc

google 'xp visual styles'

sry i dont have time to find a black theme right now, but will later if you havent replied.

cheers

nope.

the problem is that xp just came with 3 or whatever skins and that was that. i dunno if their system was locked because of a security prob or just because MS thought that was ok.

the special uxtheme.dll enables you to use new visual styles for xp as if the lock was not there.

proggies like Windows Blinds can use resourses (old versions did, new ones you can choose to use or not) because they do other things as well as replace the theme, and do it via a different method.
