Post Terragen render times

i dunno how many of you have full version of TG? to enable full quality settings.

i think generally i get about 1.5 hours per render, depending on the amount of water. so frustrating waiting sometimes, i think i will have to install TG on my spare comp

i made this one a while back, i'm not too sure what upset terragen on this, there is some odd atmosphere setting somewhere i guess, because there is not too much water. anyhoo IT TOOK 30 HOURS TO RENDER! >> http://www.deviantart.com/view/15613969/

only problem is that things sometimes look ok in the tiny preview windows but turn out **** , pity it took that amount of time to find out hehe

woah 30 hours ... my terragen (That only one person comment on,view it here), took about 20 mins, but only because it was at a wide resolution, the colours arent as vibrant as some ... but i was surprised, the pc at my dads house took 5 hours to render one of my abstracts.

thanks a lot

i only used TG for about 2 weeks, i caught the bug and rendered like crazy for a few days. but then i got a job so couldnt site here enough time to work things properly.

pretty much do my own surface maps since i started working on the beach renders i.e. this one >> http://www.deviantart.com/view/15416066/

my fave surface map is in this one >> http://www.deviantart.com/view/15754878/

i think more than anything i was put off by other users who can make really damn fine realistic surface maps, i just dont know how to achieve realism :
