I hope he gets life

Just thought about this charge:

"Invasion of Kuwait, 1990"

Wouldn't that mean that US leader would get the same sentence regarding Iraq?

If understand correctly, this is Iraq trying its former dictator, not the US trying him.

Also, there is a large difference between the two invasions. I doubt his troops were welcomed with smiles and cheers

I hope that they torture him in every way that he had other people tortured. Then they let him sit in jail for a while and show him pictures of what he did to people and their families.

Psychological stuff.

Then he dies of old age, miserable in a jail cell.

Does it really matter if its cheers or hate? Its an invasion none the less. To chagre him for it and not the US top officials that did make this disistion (not sure if it would be the president or not, don't now how much involved he was in that disision).

Can't charge someone for something but look the other way when its another person. But if its Iraq trail and USA wasn't involved I guess you have a point as its not an international court.

ST i think you mean decision

If the US needs to pin it on anyone i think Ashcroft will be the fall guy...

If i were him Id be arguning that the court cannot try me as at the time, being the countrys chief executive and hence top diplomat, i fall under the diplomatic immunity provisions.

But I think the emotions are too high to understand the legality of this argument... They want to string him up because they couldn't kill him before his arrest...

As I've said before in other post's on this subject perhaps a bullet in the head when he was first discovered cowering in a hole would have been much simpler!

I read somewhere that he was initially caught somewhere else and kept in hidding somewhere. They when elesctions came close they rearrested him. All about psyco war and politics I guess.

Cool

Now that's interesting news DD but I still think a bullet in this cowards head would have saved everyone a lot of grief and God knows he caused enough during his evil reign in Iraq.

Warm Regards

Wouldn't that break the diplomatic formalities. As he was a Dilomat at that time aswell?

Doesn't the title "enemy combatant" break Geneva Convention rules? It's all about how you interpret it bud.
