Memory question

I got 512MB and it is made by Infineon..I wanna upgrade to 1GB but do I have to buy the other 512mb from the same company or different company will work also?

should work fine
just make sure it is the same speed.

i wouldn't mix brands if you intended to use a dual-channel setup (depends on if your boards support it).

You can buy two sticks of 256 or 1 stick of 512 from anywhere. They will work either way.

really so it doesnt have to be the same company?..Because I got Infineon and its a Germany company..and its really hard to find their products in US or ebay

Im not a computer genius...but how do I know speed?..this is my 256MB info i got..256MB, DDR, 400, CL3

it will work, it's the same CAS latency and same speed

but i never buy anything from ebay

PC3200 Favorite ram is Corsair...or Crucial. They'd work fine.
