that new pope looks like he's about ready to die also, why do they not elect a pope that is under 60 years old.

LOL. People mature when they're 30. It dont make sense to have such an old pope that wont last that long, then we have to go througha ll that crap our tv being flooded with nothing but the same thing, people staring at dead pope bodies and watching black smoke ON EVERY DAMN CHANnel.

Get cable, lol.

And not necessarily. I have met some of the most immature people who are between 30 and 50, and in every walk of life. Some of our younger members here are more mature than some "adults" I've met.

they elect a pope thats over 60 cause of experience, maturity is something you gotta have if your going to be in the church at all, if they over 50 or 60, it pretty much shows that they are dedicated, and have proven themselves to be "pope" material.

You're welcome

Actually, I was recalling an admin at a certain forum I used to go to. He was in his 50's, and that guy was such a freakin' baby. He'd threaten good members for no reason, pout for not being popular, and ban people on a whim. When people didn't agree with him on any subject, be it mousepads or politics, he'd get pissed and close the topic. Sad sad fella...

The age at which a pope is elected is there for a reason, although any practicing Roman Catholic could theoretically become pope, in recent history the pope has been drawn from the college of cardinals, now i dont think that there is a 30 yo cardinal but the pope is usually picked so that they will only be pope for around 10 years, often they are in their early 70's. Since its a position that is held for life, i suppose they dont want anyone holding onto it for too long.

Good luck to him, i wonder how long it is before itys released he was a member of Hitlers Youth Party?

Too true.

I doubt he's going to be doing any world take over...Rome is far too weak to do anything of the sort.

I am glad he is a conservative. It would be pretty stupid if a pope endorsed abortion or something...people just want someone to tell them that it is ok.

there a reason they pick a older guy to fill the spot they can make him do things their way. they think they are being nice to some one in their old age.

one or two more pops it be the end of the church totally. euro nation they remove their power in the government stands. they will have no say in the euro-governments say
