My father just notified me of an accident involving my 8 year old nephew. Blake Andrew Beadles. He was at a neighbors playing on a tire swing. The swing broke and he fell hard onto his head. Hard enough to fracture his skull. He has been air lifted to a Medical Facility about an hour and half away. I'm not sure about conciousness or any further details at this time. Your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated... .-troj

Thank you guys. The only update I have is that the skull is fractured from the top to the spine and had a serious cut. He is in and out counciousness with minimal swelling thus far. He may be in ICU for several days... .

They all love me and I love them more than anything. I want him to carry on my family's name. The chances are high enough in this wild world. To lose one now would be a terrible tragedy. Thank you very much SilentTrigger. Those boys rough house all the time. I just bet he was standing up on it and being pushed and flailing around like a crazy kid having fun and the rope just frayed apart and bam... .

I just heard that he has been moved out of ICU and into a private room thank God. He may be there for a little while longer.

The Doctors are saying absolutely no physical activity all spring and summer. Only school, tv and rest. I haven't been told of any permanent brain damage. The swelling was minimal. I don't know about movement or much of anything else at this time... .-troj

Yeah its always alarming when someone hits/gets hit in the head as it is afterall the most important organ in the body.

But you can't walk around with a helmet all day, well you can but wouldn't be much fun. But it makes you think that the helmet might not be that bad after all when biking. Its just that boundry that when you take it off it wont be back on untill you hit your head badly. Too bad. They are getting a new law that everyone under 16(?) is requiered to whare a helmet when paddling along on a bike, good thing! We had those rules in school when i was a kid (but it was untill 9th grade) but no actuall law regarding it. Good to see more grownups using helmet aswell now!

Oh so much talk about helmets. Oh well they are important!

I hope he can take it easy and actually do rest. The thing that usually is the last thing you do when you're told to do it.
