Printers

Hey, I dunno if I posted this before but my parents are looking to get a new printer. I am curious to see what ones you recommend. My mom is going towards an all-in-one.

We have a 4 year old HP that has been a peice of crap.

Right now I am leaning towards a Cannon or an Epson.

Rule # 1 to by printer: First checkout the price of the cartridge, then buy the printer.

Yeah! I know the price of the cartrige is important. HP has some pricey cartriges.

Ohh and if anyone suggests a lexmark printer I am going to go over there and slap you.

cannon or epson as you said

their new cartridges do not have print heads built in so are a lot cheaper look for compatible ones instead of official ones and be shocked at how cheap they are

just bought a cannon ip4000 2 days ago. well pleased with it. had a cd tray to so you can print directly onto the top of the cd
it has a usb port so u can connect your camera but no memory card slots.

i think the printer to get at the mo is the Epson R300 (iirc). similar to the above, its slower but can do higher res, and has a mem card slots.

both cost £99 in the UK.

but either way they are not all in one, but i thought i would shere the info

We were looking at the:
Stylus CX5400 InkJet All-In-One Printer
or
Stylus CX4600 Color All-In-One Printer

$24 for a black cartrige is not bad, specially for an all in one

I have the CX5400 and I love it. Get ink here: http://www.1ink.com/product.asp?PID=...us%20CX%205400

All 4 cartridges for $32.99. I have yet to have a gripe about their service. The only thing I don't like is it needs to be cleaned regularly.

What do you mean regular cleaning? What do you have to clean?

Just go into the printer properties and have it clean itself...you yourself don't have to do any actual cleaning. It's just annoying to have to do it. I imagine you'll have to do that with any printer.
