My PC is punting people

Is there a problem with running windows xp with hosting land warior games. If so is there a patch or something i can do to fix it.??????????????????????????????????????????????

its punting people because of your hosting options, you must have crosshair closed off, some other settings may also affect this, i suggest you leave most of them the same and only change the zonetime,gametime, weapons, and the stuff that is really important, just find the setting that you change and put it back to normal and it should correct the problem.

Does the maps have spawn points for both teams?

do you use NO-CD crack? if so this may cause hosting problems

if your playing a TDM u may want to turn friendly fire off its a clitchy option that is supposed to autoboot people for murder. usually boots after 3 murders but sometimes it just doesn it if it happens once or if player commits suicide.

another problem could be a bad install of the game if the game gave any errors or hung up while installing the bad install could cause it.

i know there are a few more reasons why it could happen right now i cant think of any more but will reply if it do

If you use maps with EXP {Expansion Pak} objects or terrains, anyone without them in their DFLW file will be punted. The same is true with SKINS. Also, your Firewall can do it too, as it will think the players are hackers. I recently found that objects like clays added to the maps, can cause a SYSDUMP. NOT COOL, when you are hosting. Did you check Land Warrior FAQs {frequently asked questions} on this site?

No i am not using CD-patch or any other mods. I am just running stock maps.

It does not sound like any of our suggestions helped much. I do know players are "Auto Punted" if they lay dead too long. If that is not the problem, then I would call Novalogic Tech Support at: 1-818-878-0325. They are only open 8:00AM - 5:00PM Pacific time, but they are very helpful. I had to call them a couple times when I first started hosting to get everything working right.

if your down stream speed and up stream speed of your ISP have a large difference that can cause punting. you can type BAND WIDTH TEST in your search box and find alot of web sights offering free test. now for my question. i just got a hp pavilion a818n. i can host games fine but trying to join a game the game,DFLW,DFTFD, and DFLW demo all stop responding at the joining game page. the only thing i can do to join is go into msconfig, services and turn off Windows Audio, but without sound it's not much of a game. i've talked to hp and novalogic three times and i here the same thing every time. update this update that. well i've updated till im blue in the face and it has'nt changed a thing.i'm running xp. but i've run xp on my dell and join every time without a problem. does anybody have an idea? or even a mabey this will work?

We will try this again, could not get it to up load my reply last night. Marineusa, did you solve that Auto Punt problem yet? As for my maps Marineusa, all of them are posted here on NovaHQ.net. The one that I used for my Sig is: DC_Close-Encounters_36

KU43, is that HP new? If it is I would bug their tech support big time till they got it right. It sounds like a conflict error, and there should be a way to adjust the sound card's settings to eliminate the conflict, but that is beyond my expertise. I really depend on DELL tech support for those kind of things. If you end up needing another sound card, I can HIGHLY recomend the NVidia GeForce 4 or newer. They work great with DFLW. I got talked into a Radion Card when I bought my new computer, but it does not seem as good as the NVidia GeForce 4 in my old computer. When I can afford to change cards, it will be one of the newer NVidias, that I buy.

It has got to be his firewall. I have this problem too and if I knew how to turn it off, I could host. But marine, if you know how to turn off your firewall try that, if that's not the problem, I don't know what is

If it was a firewall problem no one would be punted because no one could join.
