Gaming Freaks Finals
Breaking Down A Championship.
In the online gaming community there comes a moment that every tournament squad looks forward to, the championship. So many times in the Novaworld community, the goal is to win and receive a jpeg that shows your dedication and hard work. But with the changing face of online gaming and the rise of professional leagues the ”Championship” has a new meaning, the ultimate test of skill and sportsmanship. On March 5th Gaming-Freaks hosts the 2005 US Championship Joint Operations Escalation Tournament Finals. This marks the first Novalogic sponsored Joint Operations tournament. Starting with 32 teams, Gaming-Freaks have seen some great matches on the way to the finals. What’s at stake in this Championship match? Read More Here

EX has only had 19 matches in Joint Operations, but don’t let that fool you. They are a division of BTS and have formed a group that is feared in the Novaworld community. Currently EX has a record of 17-2 in Joint Ops. They have been playing the best squads in the game and have only been beaten by one, DFL. Their record as EX against DFL is 4-2 and their two loses were extremely close, each coming down to a tie breaker. See record here: http://www.bts-existence.com/_ex/modules.php?name=vwar DFL: http://www.DFLxtreme.com Delta Force Legends formed right at the start of TFD. Most members, like EX, have been playing in Novaworld since DF1. After three years of squad building, they have formed a formidable match team. Currently DFL has a record of 68-17. They total 118 matches/scrims altogether, the highest in the community. DFL’s total record against BTS/EX is 4-6 with 2 scrims. DFL has even recently taken a 0-3 loss against EX. See record here: http://www.dflxtreme.com/modules.php?name=vwar Breaking Down The Match. Championship Game Settings MAPS AAS - Sungai Sabe Lumber Mill A/ B Tkoth - Berkabut Vallley A / B AAS - Dormant Volcano A / B Additional ------ Tie Breaker if needed - Tkoth - Kekoa CrossRoads SERVER SETTINGS – Nova World Hosted Set Server for 50 players - Spectators ON - ( PW to be chosen by the moderaters 48 hours prior to match ) Friendly Fire - ON FF Warning – Off Friendly Tags - ON FF Kills = 2 Tracers - Off Punk Buster Enabled and Streaming (Note: Blocking or Black-Screening PB will constitute IMMEDIATE FORFIET of the match.) Kill Limit - 175 Kills Claymores -All Friendly Tags - On Choose Team – On Player Restriction – none The Winner. Seen by many as the first “Pro” match in Joint Operations, it is sure to be one for the record books. These two teams could not be better matched for such an event and both are working hard as we speak to get ready to fight it out. Who’s going to win? Your guess is as good as mine. I expect to see this match get near or even come down to the tiebreaker, round 7. At 45mins a map it could very well reach a total time of 5hrs and 25mins. One other obstacle, besides fatigue, that may effect the outcome is pressure. There is estimated to be 20 or more spectators for this match. The spectators will be representatives from Gaming Freaks, Nvidia, Novalogic, and more. A shaky hand makes for bad aiming. In closing, I’m going with experience on this one. I call DFL in 5 very close rounds. Both teams will prove their worth and Gaming-Freaks will have put on the greatest match in Joint Ops history. Submit-DFL- |
