Sound in maps

What is the maximum limit to the number of voices or sounds the game can handle at the same time? TNX

MAX:

Waypoint Lists : 128

Triggers: 128

Organics: 256

Vehicles, emplaced weapons, and some dynamic items: 1200

Decorations, buildings, foilage: 1200

Markers: 768

As they come under Markers I guess whatever you have left over from 768 after putting in spawn markers ect.

But put in too much sound and your map will be worthless, As sounds take a lot of memory and prosessor resources.

this doesnt answer the question how many sounds simotainiously will the game handle

Well I dont think it would be down to the game but how many your sound card will allow you to play all at once.

Some sounds only play once. Some loop continuously, others play intermittently throughout the game.

I think you can spawn the once only sounds with triggers and events. Just putting whap loads of sounds on a map and then nipping round trying to hear them all is an excercise in futility.

You won't get an answer on how many sounds JO can play simultaneously either from this experiment or simply from asking because as Sal says, it is system dependent anyhow.
