Level changing.

Ever since I and my friends started to play around with DFBHD, we have been using the editor. Using pitching and such you can create nice maps and funny maps.
Fact is that DF:BHD doesn't loan itself so easy to level changes. Hell yeah, it is not a platform game.

What I am seeking for is cool leveleling tricks and such.

I am currently building a multilevel arena called "DBC American Gladiators" And I have a hard time trying to create a standard staircase that lets players leap between the levels.

Because I am using certain structures, used in DFBHD in unconventianal manner, I need unconventional means to let players walk from 1 level to another.

Any tips? If you want I can show you parts of my map, ... though not finished yet.

Took me almost most part of an hour to create this staircase to perfection. And I think not even this staircase is perfect.

Is there an easier way to lev-change?

Perhaps somebody has figured out fixed angles for certain structures that are easy to use. I, personally am a sucker with big concrete slabs. I figure out if I use concrete slabs at 22 degree angle, ... I'll need 3 meter high differences and multiples from these to fix 'm together. Though I'll need to fix'm together by hand. This stair, shown above is an example for this.

Here I had to figure out a way to overcome a high of 19mtr using concrete slabs.

Got idea's on level changers and stairway construction?

Please tell me and all else who read this.

GreetZ, J.Hyena

Ladders

Wel I know I can use ladders. I do know how to use these!!

But it is a stadium with two levels of seats. It would be not logical to let "visitors" use Ladders to change levels. You need real stairs for that. This stadium should look like a real one eventually!!

Eventually This big Stadium will have a roof over it and some roof levels. and some stuff on the playing-field. I'm also going to place some blockades on the seating area's to prevent easy sniping from one side of the Stadium to the other.

What did you mean by "teleports"? I do not know that trick.

P.S. The red circle is highlighting the same staircase I showed you in my previous post.

the pole has spike or rods on the pole to get up on them (telephone company maints people to use), they work, item name:
1.) under decorations Name "Telephone pole, single pole w"
2.) under decorations Name "Telephone pole, double pole w" don't think so climbable.
3.) Single sack of rice (put on top of each other like in steps of blocks should be climbable).
4.) Ladders there are i think 4-types mostly some are longer then others.

if you like to make steps think the best is use the Rice sacks. did not see any blocks one can use. there is a big light tower never use it before think it has steps you center it into that hole if its wide for it maybe it work.

oh was thinking if you finish it up, copy it and past it in upside down then fill in the open space in with something.
