GeforceFX 5200 problems

New here, but not to DF:BHD. A friend of mine bought this game. He installed it and patched it. The problem he's having is it won't render ground textures properly. Building and people textures are fine. The ground is purpleish with an assortment of colors. This problem seems to be mission specific, "Gasoline Alley" and "Operation..." something, can't remember the name, it's wierd. I have no problems with the game on my machine, and the only real difference between his rig and mine is I have a GF3 ti200 and he has a GFFX 5200.

I updated his video drivers to the latest ones, and he's running DX 9.1. Anyone else have this problem?

there are others with this problem, and for sure those 2 missions also. :/

does this happen with older drivers?

one thing that he could try is:

right clock on desktop > properties > setting > advanced > (i expect a tab that says 'geforce fx 5200) > additional options > performance and quality, and change this to high quality.

well if it high quality already then try performance instead.

other than trying older drivers i cant really suggest anything else :/

I don't know what Motherboard your friend has but he may have to update the AGP drivers, and if it's a older board, he may need a BIOS flash..

I would try what Stevie suggested, and if that doesn't work, make sure u have the latest Drivers for the Card, and AGP drivers, if all else fails, then try a BIOS flash..

do u know if it's a Inno3D 5200?
