Trust me SAL... it aint nothin like C&C, Warcraft or any of those resource, build & conquer gameplay!!! Its pure "Battleground" strategy... where the terrain & weather plays an important part... apart from the quality or quantity of your army.

The controls are Extremely super smooth. It definitely revolutionize the point & click gameplay. I've played it over & over again... just couldn't get enough of it. Theres 5 options of difficulties, from very easy to extremely hard.

Try the Shogun:Total War first.... but then the Medieval:Total War is da bomb!!! U can control either the English, French, Spanish (2 factions: aragonese & cant remember the other one), Papal state, Italians, Polish, German, Russian, Golden Horde (khans), Egypt, Moors, Ottomans, Byzantium, Swiss, Austrian, Vikings (norwegian/danes)... etc.

There are even the historical battles/scenario/campaign to play with... such as the 100years war. (french vs english) All the 7 crusades including Richard the lionhearted vs Saladin..... omigosh i could go on forever.... anybody wants to know more... lemme know.

Yeah... i cant wait for SOLDNER & Joint Ops too... but its an entirely different gameplay. Lets hope its better than BHD & Ghost Recon.... coz i'm still stuck with those two.

LOL!!! naaaahhhh.... It's actually my ALL-TIME favourite PC Game.

Btw have you heard of Time Commanders, a TV show in UK, where they use the Rome:TotalWar engine to recreate ancient battles, Cannae and Trebbia included.

It's thaaaaaat GOOD. They're makin TV programs out of the game. nuff' said. Anyway, I'm not sure whether there's a demo.... but you can check from the website that I've included above. Maybe theres a link.

Rome Total War will not be out for a long time, current release date is fall 2004 . Get a hold of the previous Total War series:

Shogun: TW
Medieval:TW
Medieval:TW - Vikings add on
