Virus prob

Something the admins of this site mite want to look into, ....

I was downloading some of the BHD maps, when I rean across a particular map that set off my AV. I don't remember the specific map name, but I had a serious prob with my machine immediately afterward. I don't know for sure that the virus came from this site, but just to let you guys know, the virus WAS NOT previously there, as the harddrive on the machine had been scrubbed 2 days prior to this...

Thought you guys mite want to know.

Ive scanned all files on the site on about a bi-weekly basis with nortons anti-virus 2004 pro with all latests updates.. i scan within the archives also.. nothing has ever come up. if you could find the file again or even the map name i can investigate furture..

If the problem was caused by this site i'm really sorry for the inconvience.

The map name was Redemptiond1 (file Redemtiond1.zip)

As I indicated, it may not have come from this site but I don't know. I just found it weird that i had downloaded several maps when it suddenly went off. I let you guys know so that it could be checked into, which apparently you guys have quickly responded. Coolness!

Anyway, thanks guys.

I'll continue coming to the site and as always, will send my guys here for anything they need to find. You do a damn good job of maintining and updating. Thanks again

i did a search for that name found none at all.

search for that map name:
1.) Redemptiond
2.) Redemptiond1
A.) Your search for "Redemptiond" returned 0 maps for DFBHDTS in our database!
B.) Your search for "Redemptiond" returned 0 maps for DFBHD in our database!
C.) Your search for "Redemptiond1" returned 0 maps for DFBHDTS in our database!
D.) Your search for "Redemptiond1" returned 0 maps for DFBHD in our database!

Hmm most likely corrupted files on your system did the trick or you got a virus somewhere else. I download stuff here a lot an never get any.

its highly unlikely that any virus would be in a map, before they are validated we download them and check that there are only legit files in them

it could be a hidden file inside the zip file if you use winzip upgrade it to 9.0 build 6028 its reformate the files to a better way still will work with older virsion zip files.

its funny the 3rd party med file for JO-demo, i got it like to connect to the internet and a funny thing did happen it came with a bms file it to try to connect. i block them both why it happen don't know.

I am sure the virus scan would pick up any virus because I don't think such an advanced programmer would waste his skills trying to get a few people that play DF2 instead of getting a whole bunch of people.
