you have to forward your ports on your router and turn off your firewall

firewall is not really needed to be turned off. Just make sure you have the right settings in it for the game on which you want to host.

i am just as eager to hear this answer, i know for linksys wireless routers you must type in http://192.168.1.1 and use leave the user name blank and fill in the default password, if you are on linksys and do not know this, call them at their 24 hour tach line 1-800-326-7114, i called them and i know that i need to find out what port numbers i need to enter, the only problem i have run into is that i have not found my port numbers yet, dunno if it is universal numbers for the game or differentiates between computer systems, probably a lot easier than we make it, just keep asking questions, maybe we will get our answers and provide DF with some quality hosting, SCREAMING EAGLES ALL THE WAY!

DF 2 uses UDP 3568
The rest i dont know, but try it with Ethereal. http://www.ethereal.com/ Just run the program and then start hosting multiplayer. Then you can find your ports used for hosting. ![]() Be sure that you know your computers network idea and then look up your ip and if its send to an outwards IP it might be the good port.
