need help

guys can anybody help me, prob is i have a new hard drive i want to install into my comp but im a noob at pc sh*t and dont know how to do it, plez help i know how to put it into pc but thats it.

does a window pop up with "new hardware found"? when i put in my new video card, it came with a CD that recognized the change, and then automatically changed the new card to default in all of my programs.
