multiplay prob help needed

i cant seem to get a multiplay game going. it shows up on novaworld but no on can get in. ive dumped all files and reinslaled but still no go. any help would be great.

o lord... Start-->Config-->Network Connections. ( select this 1 ) then right mouse click on the internet connection and go to the Tab "advanced" In there make sure that the mark at the internall firewall is off.
If you have acces to internet through a lancard select his porperties also and make sure that the mark at firewall is off.

man ! i have called novaworld who cant fix my prob (the guy was very helpful though), they told me to call my isp who said to call novaworld. ive shut off all firewalls any virus scan i have. ive uninstaled and reinstaled 2 times took out all the progam files on the uninstal. man i have a great pc and a good dsl server and i still cant host. im sure you guys are tired of hearing from me but i cant fix the problem.

The main reason why people cant host is because of a firewall. WinXP by default has a firewall installed that you may not even know about. If you tried katana*GFR*'s suggestion and the firewall is off, and you dont have another firewall installed like zonealram then it complicates the problem.

Are you behind a router? Do you have a proxy? Who is your ISP?

1 more tip from me when you host with Win Xp:
press ctrl+alt+del and shut down all programs that are under your login account.
pe: my login account is "leon" So i shut all progs down that have the ID leon nxt to it. When that is done i go setup my server. ( start BAB.stats then CCserver and then DF. )
If this wernt quit clear tell em and i make SS of it.

Oyeah DO NOT shut down "explorer.exe" cause then you have to reboot.... my bad for not telling it right away. And you have to look under the tab "Processes"

Well, I can't connect to nova also.......and it's not a firewall setting or sumfn like that. I can't even logon to a game through ip4lw either. I read on novaworld.com that they have updated something wednesday 19 feb.

I hope it'll be fixed soon....

I have the same problem.
My server is has a K6-2 500 MHz proccesor.
128 MB of RAM
20 GIG Hard Drive
GFORCE 2 MX 200 PCI
WINXP PRO.
and I have a 4 port cable/DSL router.
I have a cable internet connection.
I have installed nortons system works 2003 and DF: TFD and nothing else.
I have turned of the built in fire wall in WINXP PRO.
Any suggestions?
