Netdelay punts and etc(TFD)

I know Ive already asked this,but what exaclty does netdelay do?

Also,I left my server running all night and found 7 peep in it this morning.

I was tempted to join in(just woke up),but just before I did,the map changed and all the players on the server screen had the time out counters running on them.

What is causing peep to get a CI from me?

The server never goes down,it just times peep out?!

Also, when it did that I looked,and there were TWO of my servers up?!

Is there a port change going on inbetween maps?

Server is XP(no EXP maps...lol) and no firewall

I would like to keep a room up 24/7 but all these peep are bound not to come back because of problems.

LW does it too?!

Sorry guys,but Nova had BETTER get it right in BHD!!

What if theres more peep in a room than spawn points?

Could that do it?

what mostly is happen is for co-ops maps there is a bug in it for both DF:LW & DF:TFD do to auto-punt players out when maps change over to next map.

even with cycle setting is set they get punted out.
all other option sample TDM/DM/A&D/S&D...ect works find.

they say its works better when you use netdelay
to use it press ~ type Netdelay 0 press inter thats it.

"use by Host of the server only players can't use it in the game"
personal i neven seen get any better when i or other use netdelay.(it should free up a bet of lag not much i seen)

DF:1 & DF:2 it works find next map load up ok all the players are still there.as for co-op.

wish Novalogic made a patch for the co-op 1-16players like hosting can host more players let face it a real squad in us-army has 8-12 member teams in the squad but nova did not get that right small team 1-4 thats one team there are 2-teams in a squad A-Team & B-Team that make up a squad.
sample A-team attacks B-team support or both work together

I always use DM and TDM,never use coop.

Its not just me either,I have a couple of pals now that have the same problem when they host.

Im gonna remove all maps and start from scratch.

Well,I got all the maps out and tried it with just stocks...no problems(with 9 peep).

Hard to get more in a DM,but I intend to add a few at a time,check,add,check,etc.

I would hope you guys test the maps before posting them on the site.

Sorry to be late in getting back around to updating the post,but I think there is a prob somewhere because Im not the only one having that annoyance.

I was thinking of setting upa TDM or TKOTH.

May get more people.

Well,I think I may have solved it.

ALOT of maps are 170k and over(LOTS OF OBJECTS).

Thats not good(never noticed before).

Wasnt there a file size limit on maps in DFLW?
Like 140 k or something?

Anyway,filesize does matter,you may be able to host with 16 peep,but if your map thats 210 k pops up,it will throw your modem out of synch.That kicks peep and causes trouble I suspect,unless you have LOTS of upstream(256k or better).

Not had a problem since clearing the bigger ones out(they lag on a LAN anyway...they are TOO BIG!!!).

yeh 170k is the limit, and the smaller it is the less laggier it can be.

just read this somewhere the other day lol.

SCope Drift is it?!

The other dude I know that hosts and has punt probs too(in DFLW and DFTFD)said he had a room up and someone told him that it had to do with scope drift being off(i usually run it off as well).

Has anyone heard that one as well?

Do you have to be into VOODOO to keep a map up?
