eek Violence

I was wondering if someone could help me think of a few films that would have some good scenes for three examples of Violence.

Gratuitive (like SAW)
Historical (BHD and Saving Private Ryan)
Horror ???

tricky question because u could probably class a lot of films in a few categories, and also it's personal opinion.

for example someone would say Braindead http://imdb.com/title/tt0103873/ is a violent horror, but i think it's comedy horror because it's not 'real' if you know what i mean. + killing a of of zombies with a lawnmower is histerical not scary

gratuitous ones that spring to mind are
A Clockwork Orange (1971) http://imdb.com/title/tt0066921/ ACW was banned until 1999 if i recall correctly and still banned in numerous countries.
Scum (1979) http://imdb.com/title/tt0079871/
Natural Born Killers (1994) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110632/
hmmm maybe Reservoir Dogs (1992) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105236/
Cannibal Holocaust (1980) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078935/

historical i dunno, a different perspective would be something like Schindler's List (1993) http://imdb.com/title/tt0108052/ which is about the Holocaust / exterminating and persecuting Jews.

could u include something like Braveheart (1995) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112573/ i'm sure pplp getting punised by handing, and put on a rack n stuff liek that.

well horror is where it's really at, ive seen some bad stuff, erm likely not entirely suitable i dunno but if your doing a film course then i guess the interest might be there, but maybe not to show in class lol. i think violence and horror can be mixed up a bit, hard to know where horror and violence join or seperate,

anyway the single most violent horror film ive seen i reckon is August Underground http://imdb.com/title/tt0412467/ which was pretty much made to be the most horrendous violent disturbing film you could watch. there is too much discussion about it being real, but it ain't, yes it looks real, and it's all filmed on a poor quality camcorder to make it look authentic. but if you want a shock then check that out.

any of the Guinea Pig series are certainly violent horror films maybe a bit cheesy for some, but others will just throw up, maybe a gross out horror violent film:
Guinea Pig: Devil's Experiment http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0161634/
Guniea Pig: Flower of flesh and blood http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0161635/
Guinea Pig: He Never Dies http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0161636/
Guinea Pig: Mermaid in the Manhole http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0161638/
Guinea Pig: Android of Notre Dame http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0161633/
Guinea Pig: Devil Woman Doctor http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0161639/

was also recommended these for various types of horror and violence:
Irréversible http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0290673/
Dahmer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285728/
Quella villa accanto al cimitero http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082966/
Day of the Woman http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077713/

oh there is also one other classic, well i dunno if that is the word, maybe infamous

Hei tai yang 731 (1988) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093170/
also knows and Men Benind the Sun

"Japanese troops round up Chinese and Russian prisoners of war and take them to a place called Squadron 731, where they are grotesquely tortured and experimented on to test new biological weapons"

pretty much unforgettable film for some of the scenes, it's not as if there is a cool story or something like that, it's just got the shock factor that films dont have usually. much speculation about how some of the scenes were made..... real bodies... live aminals (not for long) etc.

guess that can fit in your historical one to

can't help thinking i've gone to far to the gore side of things here, but hey they are all violent as hell

oh just came across this : 10 of the Coolest Violent Movie Scenes
http://listverse.com/entertainment/1...-movie-scenes/

enjoy if you are older than 18

And if Newton Faulkner's voice can be described as "R&B" then Kurt Cobain must be a member of Boyz II Men.
