Oh noes...

Like a few weeks ago, when I got pissed hard at my big bro, I got the USP and basically took the whole friggin' thing apart and chucked it on the ground - then later on decided to put it back together.

Now, today, I felt like taking it apart again and putting it back together, but something bad happened. The big spring at the back of the gun, fell off and broke the spring support (there's the spring at the back holding onto a small plastic thingy which is the support which keeps the spring in place).

Well, it took me ages to try and fix it. I can't find the thing that snapped off (probably useless anyway regardless of whether I find it or not), and the spring I managed to get. Now, even though that support thingy snapped off, I managed to get the spring back in the gun, and get the whole gun back together in one piece. I'm not gonna even try firing it as I'm afraid it'll break. But then again I'm not too upset if it breaks since it came from my stupid big bro...

Well, you can officially say the gun is now unstable, since the main spring has no proper support whatsoever.

I'd also like to say the plastic is a useless piece of ****. First, the slide lock that prevents you from pulling the slide back totally - guess what happened to that? The small as plastic piece on the bottom of that slide lock broke, so now when you touch the slide lock, you can move it up and down. Beforehand, it was clicked into place so you couldn't wobble it.

And secondly (TODAY), the damn support for the spring broke.

Now my USP looks like it's a second hand piece of shyte. You won't see any difference on the outside if you saw it, but if you were me you'd notice (obviously because it's me who handled the gun).

I thought Tokyo Marui was a good company...

And no, it's not because of my rough handling of the gun. Sure I was angry at the time and all, but still, I'm always a "what if" fulla.

BTW, I'm unable to get it returned as it's past its warranty time, plus I took the gun apart which voids warranty anyway.

***

BTW, can any guns expert tell me, do you think a small piece of plastic, is good for holding back a strong and stiff spring?

Chris

even if its not a real gun you should (NOT!!!!) fabricate anything for it. buy a new gun and fessup to your brother because you could both be hurt in the end if you try and fix it yourself.

call the people who made it and see if they have replacement parts you can order from them.

some times they have a part manul PDF or booklet with parts number you can place a order for items.

cheaper then sending it in for repair work or out of date or even Void on the warranty.

they may ship the replacement item to you if you ask for the parts manul on it and a order forum to fill out.

items should be cheap if your mom help you out to get it.

if they have a site up lookup the part manul by the model number of the item.

plastic noo, reinforced nylon is a lot better.

dont really like plastic retainers, they give too much and can break, i got a sheldon lathe and a Van-norman #12 mill , i made a stainless recoil spring guide rod for my
keltec 9mm and replace the nylon one that was in it, it works great, it also increased the accuracy a little, ya can buy metal guide rods for it but i not gona pay the price, also made a finger pad for the end of the clip so it would fit my big hand.

but like KB said, dont do it unless ya like picking plastic or metal out of ya teeth.

was it a pin that stuck out or was it just a flat piece the spring butted up aganst?

but if ya must mod or repair it, test it like i do my guns when i mod them, place it in a good vice system, bolt the vice down to a table and pull the trigger with a cord from behind a wall, run a few clips thru it like that and then inspect it for contact points and cracks, etc.

Actually to be more accurate it was two plastic pieces. See the attachment.

And God, if the gun still works, I'm not ever gonna take it apart again. I HATE messing with systems with springs. When I took it apart, if you touched one bit wrong, the parts would pop out and then you're in the shyte.

I will admit the plastic thingies that broke was partially my fault. But damn, everything else about the gun looked nicely built, and then the things holding the spring, like WTF?! Why couldn't they just get a rectangular piece behind the spring instead of two really thin pieces on the left and right edges of the spring?

Now please correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm so firearms expert. I'm more of the enthusiast fulla...

so it is basicly a slot the spring rides in?

only thing i know to fix that would to be to get some JB Weld or other machinery grade epoxy and epoxy the 2 pieces in place and build up a little as to make it stronger, but do so at your own risk, if i lived closer i would help ya out, but to far a drive lol.

and ya think that has a biiiig spring, try the norinco chinese pellet rifle , it has a spring with a 180lb compression ratio, ya use a lever that is 2ft long to cock it, i shimed the one i had with pennies and it uped the fps of the pellet to 1000fps, only prob was it would put such a bind in the trigger it would take a 15lb trigger pull to shoot it, lol.

chris, its designed as a cohesive unit, when in R&D they look at how its going to be used as-is, not if someone's going to disassemble it then chuck it across the room if you take it apart then chuck iton the ground its your own fault...

if you have room to place 4-8 screws into it to keep the spring inline it may work

..............?.................
..............X
..............?..........

..?.X.?..............?..X..?...

...............?...............
...............X
...............?...............

4 inside and four on the outside, spring seats between the screws

Screws ?
Spring X

or 4 screws in the inside if there lack of space

last if anything tie straps to hold the spring in place two should do it

cut four holes; two outside and two on the inside of the spring, so they go over the first loop of the spring and tie off on the outside, one on each side should do it.

At one particular point in time I thought the same thing... I know guns like that are not supposed to be taken apart, even when you can take them apart.

And I did admit it was my fault, as it says in my post. And I'm pretty sure that problem with the spring would've happened some time in the future, even when it hasn't been taken apart.

@ Mauser, yep it's just a small spot the spring rests in.

You see, that's the thing about anger. It makes you go crazy and not think...?

I was doing 70km/h in a 50 zone, ripping through the gears and refusing to slow down because I was on the verge of having a psychotic episode.

Well this time, mum's really "broken" something... My gun's still operable and working (kinda), what I'm about to tell you, is FUBAR...

Well, there goes the headphones... smashed, no more listening to Metallica real loud or playing those video games... I got speakers, but I don't wanna use them for specific reasons...

Mum always wants me to download stupid damn songs on the internet, thinking I can get any song she thinks of, regardless of how old it is or how hard it is to find. Yesterday I managed to find a song successfully for her that dates back to 1977!!!!!!!!!!!! And last night a Thai song which had me really confused...

WITHOUT P2P programs...

It really peed me off, not because it was hard to find, but because I wasn't in the mood to go searching for stupid songs which seem impossible to get, even when it didn't take that long. Take ijigg.com for example, one of those songs she wanted me to get was ON THAT site. Yeah, like there's a download button lol. I had to go to some extreme measures...

If I don't download these songs for her, she either blackmails me (NO COMPUTER FOREVER IF YOU DON'T GET THIS SONG LOLOLOL!!!ZOMG111"), or just accepts the fact I can't get the song, but if I give up, I feel bad and I don't want to disappoint her or myself...

So anyways since I got the song for her, I muted the volume on the headset and went to go for a shower, since she had peed me off already so I decided to return the favour.

Then I can hear her in the lounge getting angry because she had just found out I had muted the volume on the headphones (even when IT'S SO EASY TO UN-MUTE IT, JUST PRESS THE [+] BUTTON TO INCREASE VOLUME!!!), and guess what? She starts ranting and smashes the headphones on the ground, into smithereens...

Just like that cellphone she smashed since she didn't know how to use it... Oh, grow up and read the instructions manual...

WELL DOESN'T THIS SUCK?!?!?

So just to sum things up, she gets me mad, then I get her mad, and then she smashes it. I managed to sneak into the rubbish bag and salvage one of the two ear parts (which has the mic on it and the main USB cable), so I wonder if it'll still work... It has two ripped internal cables sticking out but it might be just for the other ear piece...

Oh, and she told me the song I downloaded was the wrong one. It was the right song, but the wrong artist sung it. I managed to get the right one today, but I'm still angry...

Chris
