Whut?

I just used CloneCD to clone a disc and WTF my HDD space just went up to 15gbs (used to be 13).

Earlier before I just did this 2nd clone, I did a first clone too and that made the space go from 10gbs to 13...

This is scaring me lol. Miracle?

Chris

omg chrispy

check the setting for it to save copy on the HD, mostly it save a copy to burn later if you like.

if it ask to save a OSI file of Template it did for later use.

some time it save in a temp folder to use before it burn a copy after it read the Cd to burn off
step:
1.) Read the disk
2.) save a copy onto HD, before it burn on to a blank disk
3.) setting should be set ether to remove the read copy or save it.

bet it save a OSI (Disc-Image) copy on the HD
been a long time i use CloneCD.

don't know what the file type be? if it did save a copy of the Cd on the HD.

could be like CC? or OSI maybe

OMG - William, I said the HDD space went up, not down.

And I made it so that the .iso would be deleted after the successful burn.

I believe it's .iso BTW, not .osi.

will defrag the HD you may catch a file being defrag it maybe a super large file.

you mostly catch file name at the bottom of screen of the program naming the file its defrag if it take a long time to defrag its a super large file.

all so if you install a very large software Game DVD sample, would be like 2gb-4gb some times or even larger

Ps chrispy you read to deep again! i said no then about your HD! on the other hand if you need me to spell it out. any time anyone save a file to the HD it would get larger not smaller.

you HD jump higher do to you install or save something to it.
Movie, Software/ program install....image's....ect
Games software can be super large even a mods as will, its all adds up after a time.
2048mb=2Gb

P2P software some time even save the file to be share with others upload, as will. into its own folder. don't care if you use a P2P or not only state so you know as will.

we really don't know why your freaky HD got more junk into it! so it got larger space use. bottom line it may not be CloneCd that did it there maybe some other thing going on here

have you install any game's software or demo's lately into your system?

some games software updates may even boost the software larger as will by add-in new files to the game. maps as will can do this 5mb-200mb maps can add-up as will.

avg Halo Ce & other games maps can be 25mb to 120mb

another sample my FarCry game folder i have 3ea of them total for each super mods: Matto4, FarCry Stander, Far Cry First Contact....each of these folder are like 3-4Gb insize of their own. its like DFX but with each folder for their own modded games folder. double up on the game install folder can take up a lot of space as will.

Oh my God... I'm not even gonna bother replying this time - no offence.

Actually, I will bother. I said my HDD space went UP - which means that for some reason after two CD clones, I had more FREE hard drive space.

I did uninstall stuff on that day I think but I believe I checked the HDD space after I uninstalled them, and then after the two CD clones, I then checked and whoa... And during the clones I didn't install/uninstall anything.

Well, I've been looking for some more HDD space. Go CloneCD! Or whatever it was...
