Cry BHD Hanging issues?

I seem to be unable to get BHD to run stably on my system. Here are the specs:

Athlon T-Bird 1Ghz
Abit KT7a Raid Mobo
500+ MB ram
S-Blaster Live! Plat.
GeForce 2 Ultra
Win 2k Adv. Server (fully patched)
Zonealarm Pro
Vet - antivirus
BHD - fully upgraded

At first I was unable to connect to the novaworld server list. I found that disabling zonealarm seemed to allow me to connect - but after the novaworld browser loads, my machine would lock up.

After reading the forums, I changed my default browser back to IE6 (from mozilla) and allowed cookies.

So I was able to connect even with Zonealarm running. and I played one game. Now when I start BHD the game locks, or when i goto the Novaworld Browser my system locks up - is anyone else seeing these kinds of issues, or is aware of any fixes?

Thanks

- Junshi

Hi there! Welcome to DFHQ.NET

Make sure you have all the latest drivers for your Video Card, DirectX, Updated Windows (covers the DirectX part), Sound card. Turn off ZoneAlarm and if possible Antiviral. Try playing with lowered sound settings.

The system requirements for BHD Demo in the README.TXT file in your BHD Demo Folder. Check that too.

Its kinda odd, ive heard of this Problem 3 Times now, And well me and my friend tried everything from updating drivers, to reformatting, to whatever was needed to get the demo running for him, and the odd part was one time he was listening to Music on Winamp and had his song list going, and well he started up BHD and successfully got in the game without freezing , or locking up and having to restart his pc.

He still plays with it on, if he doesnt use it he cant play.
His PC specs are as followed:

P4 1.8ghz
80GB Hd
SoundBlaster Live
Geforce 2 32mb MX
526ram

Nice pc and all, still doesnt work without a play list going and being muted, quite Odd.

Thanks all, as for drivers my machine has all the latest drivers, including things like the Via chipset drivers.

I have had more luck running the game but it is very unpredictable, it seems that if I play one game, exit and try to run BHD again it will crash, normally at the browser, but sometimes upon reaching the main game screen.

I have to assume that something is not unloading correctly, or releasing its hold on memory....?

Thanks all for your replys

Hit the UPDATE button on your BHD Demo.
