any1 good with contracts?

well.. just when u think ur out of BT's grasp..

when they introduced the up to 8mb connection (we were automatically updated and billing swapped, without permission!..) phoned up today to cancel the BT broadband connection.. now heres the thing, i only found out i was on AOL when i couldnt connect this morning using the BT details, they told me that we "signed" up to a 12 month contract (May 06)..

now heres the question, is it worth paying out the remaining 5 months, or take it up with them that they done things without permission and why the f..k they deactivated our line without confirming it (whats the idea of cutting of the line and expecting the rest of the year to be paid)?

sound more like blackmale then any thing other then that. they are blackballing you into it.

call the local police dept see what they can tell you about it is the best! then go from there with a police report on it take it to a lawer.

police reports are free. show him everything paperwork and and other things like cutup wire if any.

i think the Local News service would love to dig into this one big time. BT would not like to be in the lime light if you know they in the wrong.

Did you not read the fine print? Did they not send you anything reguarding your 'new' contract? Did you sign a contract when you first signed up? Did you re-read that contract?

As a last resort i would call the local biz authoritys and have them work it out if you are sure they aren't going to budge with you talking to them.

Not sure how it is in the UK but i'd be at the offices raising hell right about now. People don't like me after they have screwed me over

face to face is so much better then calling them up, blast it right in their faces you get reaction from them to drop it.

the contract when we first signed up has gone, a new 1 was issued when they automatically changed our payment (without saying) and upgraded us to 8mb..

its BT, i doubt they will give a flying .... going to try and downgrade the line with them to a 2mb (£17 month) and place it onto the other phone line, means that we will save £10 a month for the rest of the contract..

Is there no agency in UK that help you when a company does something thats legaly questionable? And I don't mean lawyers, unless they work for free heh.

A company would not be able to do such a thing lawfully here and I doubt they can in UK either, unless it's stated in the contract. But such a contract would be on the boundry to illegitimate.

we order some magazines and cable with time-warnor they always automatic upgrade the service 9 out 10 freaks never ask do we like to stay with them, they auto bill us all the freaking time and with a new contract as will.

think it has to do with using the plastic card thing they have the numbers they use them as they see fit to renew the services, they should ask first if it ok
