Marines going to trial?

American Marines have been accused of massacring 24 civilians in the Euphrates River farming town of Haditha last fall to avenge the deaths of some of their own. As the story spreads, outrage at American double standards is once again building around the world and in Iraq. So, here's an idea: Let's let the Iraqis put the Americans alleged to have committed these crimes on trial. The United States wants to encourage the fledgling Iraqi institution of democracy, right? That's why we wanted Saddam tried in Iraq, and through the Iraqi judicial system—both to build up its legitimacy and to give Iraqis the sense of ownership that comes with having control over the legal process. Why, then, shouldn't we also turn over our own soldiers who were involved in either the Haditha massacre or any of the other possible massacres for trial under the Iraqi justice system?

the law is a two edge sword it cut both ways.

in a war zone you have to keep a cool head about you, it so easy to hate the Wong person or think they did this to your group! when in fact it was only one or two people who did it and you may have over kill to many of the good people in the area.

the US-Navy Marines Corp have first pick on putting them on trial if they are found guilty> after they may hand them over to the Iraq's court system.

many times in the pass if a person serving in the service is found they did something really bad they first look into it, if it found to be true then they dishonor discharge them totally then hand them over to the country they had broken the law inside.

remember Japan rape case a service man was handed over to Japan court system after they look into it and found it was truth to it.

it really weird if you think about it these terrorist that are there are kill many service men and Iraq people and kids to boot they, only asking for the arm force that are over there and cry foul? when we do it not meaning to? but a terrorist do it they do it for their god name and look at it as a blissing? the general people in Iraq can't say one way or the other its their belief do kill all in the general area of the bomb it don't matter who get it in the end! a service men do it they scream blood who never would have done it if they was not there in the first place! -really sad
