Everyone saw on the news the anti-war march in Washington last Saturday. Did anyone see on the news the march in support of our troops on Sunday in Washington? It was three times larger. NBC, ABC,and SEE BS, AKA TREASONIST LYERS refer to the group that organized this war protest as "the anti war group. In reality the group is called ANSWER. It is a front group for The Stalinist Workers World Party. According to the Black Book of Communism in the 20th century Stalin killed 25 million, MaoZedong killed 65 million and pol pot 2 million. thats 92 MILLION HUMAN BEINGS! The ANSWER group has nothing to do with anti-war and these treasonist lyers have known this . With all this miss- information they have been feeding us they should be held libel . Charged with and brought to justice for their treasonist bull shit. BUT THAT WONT HAPPEN WILL IT.

I don't know about the rest of you but I've had all I can take from these Brodcasting lying traitors. They just keep dishing it out. Their lies have already cost us one war now their trying to cost us another, only this one we can't afford to lose.Something has to be done and fast .

Ill make just this post on the issue. The role of the media in the political affairs is something ive always been interested in.

Most would argue that the principle function of the media in a democracy is to report the dealings of government and the legislature to the citizens in a fair unboased way. Traditionally this has meant that the media has been reactive, that they report on the issues that have already taken place. Evidence shows that the modern media is more proactive, they no longer report on the political events gone past, they decide what issues will be on the political agenda. I argue that the medias role in a democracy has changed, from that of a reporting reactive role, to a proactive shaping role.

Historically the print media was really the only way that citizens could obtain news on the workings of government. Print media is slow and cumbersome, a story on a current event is not heard of in the print meadia usually until the next day. Because the slowness of the print media, it meant that the media had to be by its nature reactive, as they could shape the vents at all. Today the print media is much more efficent and with the advent of technologies like the internet, cell phone and various wireless technologies, it has meant that the media has a greater influence quicker over the citizens. September 11 is a classic example, the time between the first plane hitting and the second plane hitting was between 15 and 20 minutes, yet ask alot of people in the world and they will tell you they saw the second plane hit live.

Basically i agree with you at a fundamental level KU that the media could do with a overhaul, but i respect the right to a free press as enshrined in the US constitution and if the media want to be biased then that fine, its up to each citizen to decide which media service is right for them.

I have to say I am pretty skeptical about the news media in general KU and the BBC is notorious for being "economical" with the truth and targets it's news broadcast towards the mainly middle class "chattering" groups who oppose every thing and anything no matter what the government does.


It's anti Iraq war bias is clear for all to see but the BBC doesn't seem to have any solutions of it's own to the very real problems allied troops are facing out there....all the media is capable of sniping from the safety of a newsroom but coming up with practical solutions is something else.

Well..it's like this....people have thier views and this country provides the means of an ear(via the media) for all sorts of diff issues. Abortion marches...anti-war marches...protests of all kinds...What really gets me is this..Doctors and hospitals kill...yes I typed KILL....over 300,000 people a year and you can't even go out and find a crazy street preacher that is ranting about doctors and hospitals...they took my mom away from me when I was just a kid...and didn't even apologize...and it's hard to forgive them ....

umm if these marches don't do anything then why did this converstation spark? I don't believe that marches are supposed to do anything bigger than just show people such as soldiers or politicians their stands.

i was in the service US-Army Infantry 10yrs, in the service we join it free will and serve this country and we will lay are lives down for the people and for freedom for all the world.

so what people think we join it without risk? the asker is we know it will happen one day, we can't be blind to that fact, war means death and in a no man land there no winners both sides lose love ones. even my family knows that.

it sad when a person lose a love one, but what is sadder is other take it one step more to get media and money to booster their name to boot. she only being use. she need to let her son go and rest. not push his name into the dirt.
