hosting question
ive been visting dfhq/novahq for the last couple years but i never signed up. I like your utilites and all information

i have a question about hosting for TFD. When i host a game, it shows up on novaworld but no one is able to join my game. It freezes up on the joining screen for everyone. Im on a wireless adapter from a router btw. Do you guys know what i need to do to fix the problem?

turning off the firewall only worked for 1 person, and then every1 else still gets the freeze up, he said something about port forwarding

any suggestions?

No need to forward your ports. You just need to open some. Maybe chief could help you out more. I'm not too sure on what ports need to be opened.

how do you open ports?

is it the same way to get to portforwarding, because i know how to get there

Yeah, its basicly the same thing. But you add the ports to a different page. I'll see if anyone can help you with it.

Well seeings how this is the first thread I've seen you in, welcome to NovaHQ.net . Anyways try google, searching opening ports. Also be careful, I would suggest somehow trying to get your firewall to be able to let people play on your server, without you turning it off. The problem with it being off is those random attacks. Just my advice .

wait im trying right now, i manually opened a port

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;308127

named it DF TFD multi, and made it port 17478, edited game.cfg so that mp_gameport = 17478,

but no one has joined my games, so i dont know if it works or not right now
