TFD video problems
hi all, just out of the blue my video in the game is all garbled, no other computer probs, DFX works fine, have nvidia geforce fx 5600(msi), driver is nvidia 6.14.10.6177, TFD version is 1.00.09, windows 2kpro with all updates and service packs. Last thing I can remember changing is the video driver upgrade to 71...I uninstalled that one and reinstalled 6.14.....still same. Was having other probs so I reformatted and reinstalled o/s and all programs and still same prob only in TFD. Have searched for similar prob and can't find anything, starting to think maybe video card is going south? but other games work fine. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks and visit us in the Cave~SS~, TFD public server.

what can I say, I love DF, lol, anyway I have 9.0c and all windows updates. And there arent any problems anywhere else with graphics, not even during 3d mark testing. I have tried going to older nvidia drivers, and newer ones, nothing seems to help the game...

will if the other games are working 100% with your system it mustbe the game DF:TFD that has gone bad.
do this: 1.) Un-instill it. 2.) save player.sav file 3.) delete game folder totally 4.) scan reqister for error repair/delete them if you can. 5.) restart system. 6.) re-instill the game. 7.) update it. then try to play it. have you added anything to the game last 30days? or try a mod out for this game.

no nothing added, and as far as the uninstall I just reformatted my drive and reinstalled everything from scratch so the install is fresh from the cd, with all updates, no mods or patches of anykind. I'm pretty comfortable with computers and so on but this is crazy, can't figure out why only one game has a problem, and only on a mission, when I'm in any of the menus there is not a problem, and if youre looking out into the clear, the video is fine, look at trees or buildings or any populated area on the map then the video goes crazy, jagged lines, colored triangles, ect. Just a simple little problem, lol, thanks!

you know what i really think there is some thing gone bad in windows ok
please try this ok: 1.) Start> Run> type in: CHKDSK /F 2.) hit "enter" new window popup press "Y" hit enter 3.) restart system as it boot up will scan the Hard drive for errors and fix them all up. ScanDisk option: Windows 2000/Xp home/Xp Pro SP2/2003 CHKDSK /F is for quick scan of hard drive. 15-50min to run. CHKDSK /R is for Through scan of the Hard Drive 45-90min to run counts how much data you have on your Hard drive and speed your system runs at. for it to finish. ether case let run till it finish.
