I upgraded from win98 to WinXP and now the server doesnt open could you tell me how to fix it.

1.) you have to get windows Xp SP2 instill
2.) get Windows Xp fire wall to let connect to the internet
3.) in DF1 shortcut right click-on it go to properities change the setting in "compatiiblity" click-on this tap.
4.) put a check into compatiiblity mode under you see a empty box check it.
5.) set it to "Windows 98/windows Me"
6.) finish by click-on apply then ok.

i am checking to see if them servers are still up, there are two Novaworld servers that are up and about 12ea public servers that are up too.

check your firewall see if it set to high or it blocking DF1 some way.

i am running Windows Xp Pro SP2 (OEM) and it working for me ok. i did have to debug it working great.

fire i am using is ZoneAlarm

if you have not done so update windows XP now there a virus that will load up into your system by you log-on line it should been the first thing you should have done if you have not done so. and get SP2 fast you can order it is free to get a Cd of it or ask a some one who has it to let you use it..no key-code to use SP2 at all for Windows Xp Family

I have sp1 and wont install the sp2 have tried and have too many issues with it, i did what you said above and it didnt work. I am using zonealarm and have it allowed and i use a router, if certain ports need to be open what are they? I appreciate the help thanks a million :-)

try to run deskscan before instilling SP2

it take longer but your get it instill

Start>run> type in: chkdsk /R

it will scan deeper for any error and fix them.

SP2 will take a longer time to instill like 45min to 1hr 30min count on your space on HHD and speed of it.

after it been instill disable windows firewall look into "Control Panel" see a new item there now "Security Center" click-on it see at bottom "windows firewall" open it up see the 3rd option at bottom trun it off check that box then ok. you already have a firewall windows firewall is buggie too. game starts up and it close the game down. anyway you have a good firewall as it is.

here i made the shortcut the way it need to be

you have to edited the info in it:

shortcut tap line:
Target> "C:\Program Files\NovaLogic\Delta Force\Df.exe"
Start in> "C:\Program Files\NovaLogic\Delta Force"

my is set to F:\

to do this right click-on the shortcut pick "Properties"

on the "shortcut" tap you see them listed there. change the F to C ok, then click-apply thats it. use it outside the game folder like desktop or any other place you like to use it.

this is not a no-cd patch it a shortcut to the game.

attachment you need to take item out then place on desktop to work with it, all setting have been change to let the game work in windows Xp family
