Text arc failure

The "DRIVER" text is what the normal text is, then when i go to the arc opttion, choosing "arc" then to Horiz. +1, click ok, it ends up as a flat line, Which is the part with the red outer glow, why does this happen? am i doing in wrong?

make sure everything is off on your text options.......the little box on the top right nav bar
