New DF utilities
Hi all,
Who do I contact here regarding getting a new DF-BHD utilitiy listed? I have written a program which moves Teamspeak users into the correct channel based on which team they are on in BHD. The program is in a very stable beta state and is available on my website at: http://www.peterbarrette.com/ The program is free for non-commercial use and freely distributable. I wrote the program for my own use, but since it now exists there is no reason not to share it with the rest of the DF community. Thanks for your time, pb |

Anyone out there?
I'm asking for guidance on this, please. Atomic at Nova-Inside has offered to host this for me, but I think that DFHQ has a better selection of utilities and I have my own support forums set up already, so I am asking here first. Please let me know if you wish to add this to the utilities or not. It supports BHD and Team Sabre v1.5.0.5. pb |

Can you explain a little more in detail what this tool does? Is that all it does is make sure red is on one channel, and blue is on another?

Hi Panther,
Thank you for responding. Yes, essentially, that is all that this program does. It ensures that if you are on Red Team, then you will be in the channel designated for Red team. If you are on Blue team, then you will be placed into the channel for Blue team. This way, there is definite separation of teams when using Teamspeak. You can even have passworded channels or not allow un-registered Teamspeak users to join registered channels. Since the player move is performed by the Teamspeak server, the user is moved to the proper channel even if he/she cannot move him/herself into that channel normally. It can help keep your BHD channels clear for those who are actually playing the game. It can also be used for those who wish to have a more public Teamspeak server, but are worried about giving out channel passwords or disreputable players listening in on the opposing team's channel. I also have another program in the works that allows you to issue commands to the Teamspeak server by using BHD's "Talk" feature. This would allow you to kick, ban, move Teamspeak users without having to Alt-Tab out of BHD to do so. That program is in a bit more of a beta state than the above mentioned program, but it will be getting better with time and more people using it. Finally, I am working on a third program that displays the name of the currently speaking Teamspeak user inside the BHD screen. Currently it is functioning perfectly, but there is a memory leak in the Teamspeak Client SDK that prevents me from releasing that program to the public. I will, however, release it to certain beta testers with specific conditions. If you need more information, please feel free to ask. Thanks again, pb |
