Nice, YOU GO GOOGLE!!!

I saw this earlier. I haven't read that article, but isn't it supposed to be used by current isp's so that it's more accessible to everyone?

Scott 02-12-2010 06:12 PM

It can be used by current ISP's and startups I believe. I think the purpose is to light a fire under the current ISP's arses so the USA has access to faster speeds. Apparently we have very slow internet here.

man I hope they get some kind of cable hook up at my house.... I'm tired of this satellite BS.

VooDoo- 02-15-2010 12:20 AM

i've read that in japan internet speeds there dwarf ours... so this is pretty cool

My 10megs does seem not enough at times lol...When netflix is running, itunes downloading and Live is going...

.Simon. 02-15-2010 05:28 PM

my 4mb seems pretty inferior now :(

Chrispy 02-15-2010 09:46 PM

My 56k beats all your inferior crap.

.Simon. 02-16-2010 03:48 AM

Ouch

Chrispy 02-16-2010 12:15 PM

Nah I'm on broadband, and the speed of it doesn't worry me - it's actually the data cap, for that matter. :(

Anyways, 1Gbps... freaking wicked. :)

~MOUSE~ 02-16-2010 12:37 PM

It wouldn't make any difference if every ISP advertised "1Gbps" you are still restricted by how good your line and exchange are.

BT have been promising 8MB connection for over 3 years but my exchange will only work at just over 2MB. :sadroll:

I doubt you will be seeing Google vans digging up your roads installing cable to supply there super fast connection for a very long time.
