Tile Trouble
When I do an integrity Check in DFX2 MEd I invariable come up with the tiles being unknown items.
I use TrnTile10 set of course. What gives there? |

If you try to play the game it either sys dumps or crashes on reset or exit
Now I have found that if you select the tiles, go to properties and select the tile, go to properties and re-select they go to NULL, then you turn them into trees, Go out of then back into the editor and the tiles are gone, in-game they are still there? |

Bad coding - Nova's tiles frequently get corrupt. I remember on BHD, they would sometimes "stick" to the terrain, or even outright crash the game. They fixed them a little for DFX and DFX2, but they're still prone to epic failure.
They can be easily broken, like what you did with turning them into trees. I'm assuming, when removing the .til file from the folder, the map works, right? Sometimes it works to just delete the affected individual tile if you know where it is. Hopefully, with DF:AF, Nova will have ended the concept of using a separate file for tiles. It makes it much easier for stuff to go wrong in-game. |
