Cool RE: THIN RED LINE.

Hi,

I've seen the Thin Red Line and it is a good movie but, I personally think that Saving Privare Ryan is the best war film/movie of all time. The opening sequence (D-Day landings) is the most horrific I have seen in any film/movie.

I must point out that the Mel Gibson movie, We Were Soldiers Once, although being a good film/movie, completely ignores the contribution made in the real battle by a British born officer who had emigrated to America and served in Vietnam but then, this is Hollywood not known for letting the truth get in the way of a good story.

Cool RE:THIN RED LINE ETC.

Hi Stevie & hi all,

I forgot about Platoon the best Vietnam war movie ever!!!! I also forgot Full Metal Jacket and Hamburger Hill!!!! In fact when I stop and think about it there must be dozens of excellent war movies that have been made over the years. I still think that the first 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan is one of the most realistic representations of what real war is like. I for one thank God I didn't have to run up those beaches on D-Day!!!!

Peace to all
